Owner told me on the phone that I need refill coverage insurance to rent without a credit card. I purchased a travel rental car policy, got to the office, and was then informed there's also a $500 deposit. That would have been nice to know over the phone.

Because of this Hertz location and the owner Chris Brown, I will never trust a rental car company again. I was overcharged by a couple hundred dollars and then hung up on by Chris when I asked for a copy of the signed contract. Very very shady operation to say the least. I’ve heard similar stories from other people, it is sad to see a local owner taking advantage of his small town community.

Twice in one month I’ve reserved a vehicle a week ahead of time to only be told that they didn’t have a vehicle once I arrived in person. This business is a joke. ZERO customer service.

WOW! Just got off the phone with Chris, after he hung up on me! I told him I’m broke down. He gave me options with requirements. I didn’t meet the requirements and he immediately hung up on me. Is this how you treat your customers? I’m stuck in this town with my 2 year old daughter , I’m in a real tough spot. Chris could care less.

My mom was life flighted to Lincoln and miraculously got better. We rented her a car from lincoln to North Platte one way $350 After arriving, after hrs, physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted she returned the car and grabbed hers from the lot. She drove under the awning and when she went to drop their keys in the after hours box she accidentally dropped her personal keys instead. She called Chris per the instructions on the box and was told "to bad" they were not going to pay someone to come get her keys for her. Further more assuming their rental car was under the awning they told her if their car gets towed she would have to pay the fees.i get she made a mistake but now one deserves to be spoken to in such a degrading unprofessional way. This woman just spent a week fighting for her life and never cried once until she called me after talking to this skum.

I've had plans to rent a car upon getting to North Platte for near a month (for use in North Platte to visit family). Had everything pre-paid and was told if I bring the same card I make the reservation with I'm good to go... No apparently if you don't have a local card or "a major credit card" they won't rent to you... from an airport. I can't even make this up 😂

So so so disappointed. Someone didn’t return their vehicle and they wanted to charge us for another vehicle they had instead after we made a reservation. No one let us know our car was not returned. They basically said there is nothing that can be done. So disappointed. Never coming back here.

Do not come here. The clerk told me they had my vehicle. She ask if I'd be going to any states outside of the surrounding states because it would change the contract. I was honest and said there's a possibility that I may take some items home and return depending on the charges. She then suddenly didn't have my vehicle. I asked her why and she said I couldn't take it to WY. I told that was fine I'd be staying in North Platte until my truck is fixed. She continued to lie and say they didn't have the vehicle I requested. This isn't the first bad experience I've had with Hertz and Thrifty.

We were on our way back home to Texas last week when we encountered a deer which damaged our RV. We needed a rental car and luckily Chris from Hertz at North Platte answered the call. He was able to reserve a large SUV which we needed to haul in all our stuff in the RV. Hertz was the only one with a large Tahoe available around. Chris was very accommodating and understanding throughout. In no time, we were back on the road thanks to Chris and Jill at Hertz North Platte.

I had a mini-van reserved for a week. Received notice day before the pick-up that all was "go". Arrived, only to be told no mini-van was available and my only option was a full-size 15 passenger maxi-van (overkill in size and terrible gas mileage for 1200 mile mountain trip). They refused to allow a price break for the increase in gas cost which would be incurred, so we had to walk away without the rental. Gee, thanks anyway.
