Bought a used 2016 Chevy Silverado from them in November of 2020, cab corners were all dented. Frame started rusting bad, inside doors and wheel wells started rusting as well. Paid $2,500 to have that work done and now my paint is bubbling in the cab corner and frame rust getting worse. I wash the thing religiously and take good care of my vehicles. I’ve literally put 10,000 miles on it since I owned it and barely drive it in snow because I use my work car.

This review specifically refers to our recent dealings with the manager at this dealership. We decided to sell back our 2012 Buick LaCrosse as it no longer fits our entire family. After getting in touch with a sales rep - Dustin (who seems very helpful and on top of things - nothing negative that transpired was his fault), my wife sent over a number of detailed photos of the car and we were offered $7500 for it verbally. Frankly this is less than it’s worth, this car with similar mileage is being sold for about 12 grand at dealers in our area, but there is part of the passenger side that is scraped up and obviously we’re sacrificing some money for what should’ve been the convenience of selling back to the dealer. Today (7/13), we bring in the car to sell back. Mind you we also brought along our four small children. So after taking some time with our car, the manager comes in and tells us he can only give us four grand for it (this is less than what is still owed on the vehicle), that he couldn’t “blow up” the pictures we sent (um what?) and couldn’t tell that there was damage to the car (it was clearly visible in the pictures because we obviously wanted an accurate quote). He tells us that it will require $3500 in body work (definitely not true, I’m getting bodywork done on our other car and it wouldn’t be anywhere near that). Again, this is for a mechanically sound car that is currently selling at dealers in our area for $12,000. So we essentially wasted 2+ hours of our life dragging our kids to a dealership just to be bs’d and lowballed. I try to stay away from dealerships in general, but this was probably the most outrageous attempt at highway robbery I’ve experienced at one.

It took 3-4 hours for vehicle to get serviced even though it went in for just an oil change and inspection. Also the cost is outrageous. My dad had his vehicle serviced there, same exact service as me and he payed $20 less than I did. He has a pick up truck and I have a Chevy trax. Very overpriced. I did have a great experience with the lady that cashed me out. She was very fun and energetic to talk to. All this being said I will be taking my vehicle somewhere else to be serviced.

UPDATE 05/05 Tim reached out to my husband this morning and was extremely apologetic for what happened. It is this kind of customer service that made me a fan of Bob Johnson in the first place. We are extremely appreciative of the call back today and the apology and explanation given. We appreciate the call Tim, thank you! If I could give the service station 0 stars I would. I sat for 2+ hours for an inspection. People who came well after me for the same inspection, one needing to have brakes and rotors put on their car left well before me, at least a half hour. There was a couple that came in at quarter to 3 for an inspection were out of there before I was even given my car at 3:15. I was there at 1:00 for my appointment and sat for two plus hours waiting for my car. I was told at 2:00 p.m. that they were finished with my inspection and he was just waiting on my keys and paperwork At 3:00 I was told that they were just finishing up the inspection and he just needed to wait for the paperwork. The kicker of the story though is we got a text saying the car was done at 1:23pm. So I spent an additional 1.5 hours being given the run around. An inspection should not take 2 hours when there are no issues with the vehicle. They have lost my business forever, which to them may be nothing but I have referred friends and family because of the service. I feel sorry for those that have bought through them or have used their service center for work.

Even though I was quite hesitant about purchasing this car, my sales person, Douglas Curry, remained patient and calm throughout. He then completed the purchase with efficiency and thoroughness.

Shane and Nate took care of me from the start, actually all the Bob Johnsons employees did. We sat and picked which items I wanted in my 22 Yukon Denali and then the order was placed, I felt that it came in rather quickly after placing the order which made me feel important, like my sale was important to your dealership. On the day I took possession Nate and Shane had everything ready to go for a speedy transition into my new truck. These two outdid themselves, this is my first purchase from Bob Johnson and because of sales people like Nate and Shane that made it so easy and not stressful, it won't be my last. I hope every customer gets the same experience as what Shane and Nate provided for me.

My experience started when I submitted a information request through Cars.com. I was contacted within minutes from a BJ sale rep. They were very responsive and transparent in the process. My vehicle was 'in transit' to the dealership, so I put a $200 deposit to reserve the vehicle. It arrived within a week. I went to the dealership and worked with Doug Curry who was very professional. We discussed the deal and 5 days later, I took delivery of my new GMC Sierra Elevation 1500. Very happy customer! I will be doing all my future purchases with BJ Chevy, GMC in LeRoy.

I was pleased with the trade in price I was given for my car. I appreciated the mini lesson in how buying a car differs from leasing. Within 5 days of entering the Bob Johnson dealership, I was driving away with a beautiful 2022 Buick Encore. So far, I am very happy with it!

The people working there and who I talked to were amazing Shane, Barnard and the front desk woman had awesome energy.. but charging $900 for 300$ of material and 30 minutes of a mechanic’s time is outrageous
