Is it too much to think that retail should accommodate customers' smooth and expedient exchange of money for stuff? The new store layout is convenient. After doing all my shopping and finding 10 people in checkout, the furniture is comfortably adjacent to the register, a great place to sit and wait and rethink potential purchases. I am disabled and unable to stand for extended periods of time. After waiting over 15 minutes for a break in the line I ended up leaving, having reconsidered all my purchases. Big Lots, wasting time and saving money. updated May 2022. they have moved the furniture away from the checkouts. I haven't yet managed to walk in and walk out with anything. they never pull anyone up to the registers when there's a line and I don't know how checkout can take so long. I have made 2 ventures in since my original posting. I picked up items I wanted to buy, got in line waited till I could no longer stand, put them down and walked out. Foolish me for returning. Foolish store manager for turning away my money through poor staffing. although I must say the staff is always pleasant. it's not about the people they hire. it's about where they put them and what they do when they have a line of checkout.

These 3 ladies, held their composure and dealt with her and also took care of us. I can't say enough about a great they handled the situation. This Big lots is Great 👍. My wife and I were shopping for an entertainment center and the store Asst. Manager helped us while they were extremely busy. The assistant manager went bove and beyond to get use the exact item that we wanted even though it wasn't officialy in stock , she took the time to check a truck that had just delivered a new shipment of merchandise and got our item that we wanted for us that day. I can not tell you how much it ment to me that she took the extra time to find the item. I will return to this store many more times because of the excellent customer service. I hope this organization will recognize the amazing employee they have with the assistant manager.

Bought a couch and drove 1 hour to pick it up to be told that they do not have any in stock. The customer service was very poor and the manager was lazy and unprofessional. Do not trust online ordering with Big lots as they do not manage their inventory.

The customer service I received today was beyond exceptional!!! Manager Allison, went beyond above and beyond to help us with an issue we had. We lost our receipt on a chair that became damaged and we wanted to exchange it. Allison made phone call after phone until she finally got results for us and we were able to exchange our chair for a new one. Thank you very much for the customer service we recieved!!! There's no question in my mind that we will always continue to shop at Big Lots. And we love the new chair, it's incredible!!!
