As a local I love the selection of surf apparel. The women's section always has cute bikinis, shorts, tees, sundresses and accessories. The young girls that work in the department are always friendly and helpful. Highly recommend 👌

Purchased my first skim board here! Got a beginner's board for a decent price of $36 with free wax. Plenty of surf boards and skim boards, I wish there was a better selection of the beginner skim boards thou. Great price on stickers and a huge selection too, lots of cool t-shirts which are decently priced as well. I was assisted by staff who was able to answer my questions, homie was even in crutches and came over to help me 👏

Go anywhere else but here. The owner will accuse you of stealing. We were trying to pay for an item that didn’t have a security tag so my girlfriend decided to wear it as we were going to the beach and didn’t know where to change. The owner made her lift up her shirt in the middle of the store to prove she didn’t have it and then said there was a thumb tack in the dressing room like we took off a security tag! Why would we hand you the tag to scan to buy it and then accuse us of stealing? If we were stealing we clearly wouldn’t hand you a tag. I’ve never stolen anything in my life and this was the most embarrassing and traumatic experience for us. I will NEVER shop here again for the rudest woman owner.

I am the girlfriend in Micah’s 1 star review. I can’t believe I was humiliated like that in front of the entire store. After accusing me of somehow picking off the security device of the swimsuit (that it didn’t have to begin with) with a thumb tack she asked me again if the swimsuit had a security device like she didn’t believe me and was giving me one last chance to fess up. She also chewed out the sweet girl who was helping me as if it was also her fault that I was “stealing” I payed the overpriced $30 for the string top and left. Do NOT go here!!

Would not recommend Bert's Surf Shop!! They are open but will not let customer's use their bathroom. So they expect you to spend your money in their shop but will not let your child use the bathroom. We left our merchandise and went directly up the road to Atlantic Beach Surf Shop and spent over $300 and were treated very kindly! We love Atlantic Beach and spend two weeks every summer here. I will never shop in Bert's Surf Shop again!

Bert's has better quality merchandise than the neighboring shops at very reasonable prices. The racks are spaced out enough that you aren't on top of each other trying to shop or sucking in your belly to keep from knocking stuff over, and best of all: the staff is helpful without being pushy or aloof. To further prove this respect for their customers, during Covid they even wore their masks correctly. Went twice this trip and will be back again!

We stopped in here looking for sandals for the family. They had a great selection and sizes for the whole family, even gave us a discount on one pair because they were discontinued! we’ll definitely stop by again!

All I can say about this shop is that I liked their clothes. The staff their sucked! Absolutely no customer service! They just stood at the register. I had about $500 worth of merchandise in my hands with my husband and asked to try on a couple swim suites, they told me no! Because I already had one on, said it was their policy... I said but we haven't gone to beach yet, they told me it didn't matter. My husband said well I guess your store doesn't want my money then and we left. We have lived here for 2 years, we are not tourist, but I will spread the word not to go to this shop ever!

A neat place to visit when beachn'it at #AtlanticbeachNC great selection of stuff for the vacationer. Picked up a new #skimboard and #flops while vacationing. The staff did ask if we needed assistance. A must visit while vacationing!
