A great place to vacation. Lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The Boardwalk is a nice neatly one mile walk from end to end

The boardwalk is our most favorite spot for sunsets!

A little slow driving through duck because it's mostly a 35 mile per hour zone. Had quite a few shops to rent bikes or boats or rafts/jetskies. It was a very nice area and a little busy. Enjoyed the places to rent and stay and had a few eating options and ofcourse enjoyed going to the beach.

A beach with a nice small town flavor. Everyone we ran into was kind, the beach was nice and clean, with friendly lifeguards. Duck doesn't have big hotels so there is plenty of room to hangout on the beach. There is also a good set of clean and modernized restaurants and fun shops nearby. On the downside, and I understand how parking can be a problem, but there doesn't seem to be public access to the public beach.

Duck is an extremely well-managed, beautiful, continually-improving seaside/soundside town. I have been visiting Duck since before Neil Armstrong walked on the moon in 1969. I have owned property in Duck since 1987. I now make my permanent residence in Duck and I operate a rental cottage in Duck. Duck is the best place on earth to honeymoon, vacation, live and retire,..and I’ve done all of these things in Duck. Great fishing in the fall and spring; great inexpensive golf courses all year long; a highly-responsive and accommodating group of professionals managing the town, an outstanding police department, a great full-time fire department, highly-responsible hard-working business owners, and the greatest sunsets anywhere. Duck is the best place on earth. My 50 years of life experience in Duck has been, and continues to be, a dream come true. If I could rate Duck 10 stars, I would. I’m looking forward to living out my remaining 30+ years in this beautiful town. - KG Farah, Duck NC

A beautiful little seaside town, nestled in the OBX. we’re new to the area, but have found this town to be particularly well maintained and pleasant. Much of the lower OBX feels a bit too much like myrtle beach, in a bad way. The restaurants and shops are nice, and we thoroughly enjoyed everything we did here. If we return to the OBX we will probably try to stay in Duck or above. It felt a bit local/small/quaint.... except for the SUper Wings.

The town apparently admires plutocracy, but is not honest in its embrace. Having the beaches labeled as "public" while having zero public access points is a very dishonest maneuver to thwart we "common folk," also kown as the public, from actually enjoying our public right. Shame on the town for their unholy alliance with the bourgeoisie!

Very helpful at town hall. Dog friendly town & beaches. Friendly people. Looks like they have several neat town events throughout the year. Tip : to enjoy the beaches stay somewhere that provides access (no public access)

After reading an online article that named Duck as a great place for stargazing on the OBX, we ventured over there after dinner (from Nags Head). It's about a 30 minute drive but well worth it! Although we visited at night when nothing was open, we were able to walk along the waterfront docks which were lovely! While searching for a place to let our kids use the restroom we encountered the nicest, most friendly and genuine police officer I've ever met. His name was Officer Knight, and he deserves every praise we can give him! As teens, I think my girls are apprehensive of cops because you only ever hear of ones who catch you doing something you shouldn't be doing lol. But Officer Knight was a gem and showed my girls a great example of a true law enforcement officer - someone who is there to HELP, and who yes - if you are doing something illegal he will surely get you for that too, but I think it showed them that cops aren't meant to be feared. They are to be respected! He told us about an awesome place we could see the night sky and he spoke to us at length, even directing us to the restroom. We will definitely be back to the lovely little town of Duck and I hope we see Officer Knight again! If you're reading this Officer, thank you so much again and keep up the excellent work! You made us feel very welcome in your town and I hope your employers know what a wonderful asset you are!
