My wife's car needed a jump on the battery that morning. I brought it over and asked if they could test the battery. They said they would not, because it might be bad and it is difficult to access. That's on a 2016 equinox.

Overall, what I came there to have done, got done. Unfortunately it wasn't all that pleasant. I walked in and said to the gentleman, Adam I believe, that I think I needed my battery checked. He went out and checked my battery and explained to me that basically I needed a new battery. Which I kind of already figured. So we went in and he explained the batteries and all the warranties and was just very knowledgeable. We were going to go with the Gold one. He went to go install the new battery and after he was done, he came in and said it was in but there was a slight problem. The positive terminal wasn't really attached. He said I would be fine as long as " I didn't go over a speed bump at 80 mph" At first it seemed like it really wasn't going to be a problem. But then I asked him to show me what he was talking about. So we went outside, my grandfather was there as well and when we saw what the gentleman was talking about, it wasn't just a little loose. The entire terminal came off with ease. The associate even pulled it right off with no effort right in front of us. My grandfather and I were very upset because it really felt like the associate wanted us to leave like that. That was just unacceptable. The battery clearly didn't fit, and instead of coming in and expressing that and maybe suggesting, "hey this battery isnt going to work, lets drop down in grade and get one that actually fits" he just tried the brush the situation under the rug. It was cold, I get that and I'm sure the associate wasn't too thrilled with having to go outside and change a battery at 7 o' clock at night. Then the manager Perry got involved and had made a suggestion to the other associate. I had to drop down to the basic grade because they had a battery that was an exact match to my original battery. All in all, I left there with a new battery and my car works great. I'm able to get to work and just have my car working. Both associates were fine, just wish things were handled a little more appropriately.

My car wouldn’t start so I got a ride to here for a new battery. I didn’t take my old one out yet because it was so cold that day so I figured I would return the core another day. I asked multiple times if it turns out to not be the battery I could just bring it back. I bought the battery and got a ride back home. I swapped the batteries and that wasn’t the problem, so I called auto zone back to see how long I had to return the battery to get my money back. They said you can’t return a battery once installed. He put a manager on the phone and I explained everything that had happened and what was talked about. The manager (I think Eric) said he would honor the return because of this mistake. I took the battery back the same night just so I wouldn’t run into an issue getting a refund. They looked at the terminals and could tell I only had it connected enough to try and it was still in brand new condition. My money was refunded and I left satisfied. Can’t say this will always be the case for others but it was great customer service in my mind and that’s what I do for a living, so I understand the importance of that. I will visit that location again when needed mainly because of the service! Kudos to this location for sticking behind your word and your customers 👍🏼
