The manager Kisha is Heartless and doesn't tell the truth. Claims she cares for the pets. Not true it's all about the money 💰💰💰

They went from a 5-star to a 1-star because they turned down dogs brought to them by the "public" if you find a dog a puppy who you see and want to help do not take them there call the police first they will only take animals sent by the police.... a gentlemen found a puppy that looked like it was dying it was alive but so limp he said he was having seizures the woman there had the nerve to say take it home or find a vet like 😲 😲 the dog poor dog was found on the street and an officer told him to bring the puppy there... aren't you suppose to help stray animals aren't you a shelter for animals to help, heal, and adopt 💙 The Humane league would have NEVER did that shame on you PSPCA

While I almost never write a negative review, it behooves me to do so to caution others who may think about visiting the Lancaster SPCA to help an animal. Unfortunately, the staff failed at communicating unreasonable, arbitrary rules to our family after we invested three hours of our day waiting to meet and potentially adopt a dog. Two members of our family were not able to accompany us, as they had mandatory school activities and work. The staff member flippantly turned us away without any discussion. We attempted speaking to another staff member but were simply told, “Too bad you feel this way.” We attempted to explain that emotions are not a factor, but there was no interest in our efforts and attempts. I do not know what other unreasonable rules are in place, therefore you may want to be flexible in choosing venues in your effort to help an animal.

Tried to adopt a dog at soca, the staff was totally indifferent. Acted as if was a hassle to answer questions, then proudly stated that they required $400 to adopt. Way to look out for the welfare of abandoned dogs. SPCA, What a joke

I think the SPCA does wonderful things for unwanted animals. I think that the Pitbull is a much misaligned animal and that the SPCA does a good job of putting them into good homes or they will be loved forever. They work so hard at getting animals homes and it's a difficult thing to do for some animals. And for those animals that don't get to go to a new home, they keep them there till the end. They are no kill shelter and I am thankful for them. So instead of buying your next dog adopt/rescue! It's the kindest thing you could do and carries Rich rewards with it.

I am a foster parent for kittens. This no kill shelter is easy to work with! They are easy to contact, friendly and helpful. The shelter is always clean and organized.

This is the second time that I have used SPCA neutering my pet and it has been easy for me and our family. The team there does an amazing job and everyone is concerned for the pet. We recommend them to anyone who is looking to neuter or spay their pet so many extras come with it and it’s worth the price. Really grateful to all the people there ,&! the team and the vets!! I highly recommend there services. 🐶 ❤️. <><

Too much hassle to adopt a dog ! No pictures or descriptions on their website. You have to fill out a form first, then you will hear from them. And adoption prices are $450 for puppies when there is a website where they have dogs from reputable breeder from $200 and up. So no thank you SPCA I will pass.

Most of these places want appointments and probably most people who work for a living aren't able to do this, I firmly believe that if call ahead and appointment making weren't necessary as in pre COVID days there would be fewer animals left in shelters ! Furthermore it's pretty much like adopting a child, life history, financial background medical and training as well as philosophy, I totally get it and understand the thinking but there are a lot of people fully capable and willing to care for Dogs and Cats who may not be well off or even close but who would love and care for these animals as well as anyone else, just a thought from a life-long pet owner who didn't always have the means.

When adopting a Pitbull I was told he only had food aggression… but the first night I got bit on the ear and there was no food anywhere near him. When I called they kept saying well he was a stray we have no idea what he has been threw “maybe try to give it a week-yet and see how it goes”(on the seventh day they do not have to refund a penny). On the seventh day I get viciously attacked and all I was doing was sitting on the floor with no food or chew toys near by at all. Also was told that another person had adopted the Pitbull but had to bring him back due to “their cats being the problem not the Pitbull”. Also to back up other reviews. When they sent a staff member out to come get the Pitbull I noticed the leash that is hooked to the back of the SUV was wrapped around the dogs back leg and even made and issue to say this to again the staff member. He still pulled the dog out and hurt the dog in the process, extremely unprofessional for a staff member.
