This dollar general has gone down hill horribly. They close ALLLL the time leave no note on door.. they just close and leave us alll stuck.. and the store is a mess they never stock.. and everything is everywhere. They SUCKKKKK im tired having go up the road to other side penn hills when i live right here. They need get it together or just close period. I give 0 stars

if there were a way to show you my experience of this location (DOLLAR GENERAL IN PENN HILLS) and in particular, the STORE MANAGER, that could be less than 0 stars, that's what I would have chosen. She bossed the employees around in front of myself and other customers, she humiliated me when I asked her if she would put all the refrigerator items into a bag by itself, her LOUD comment was "I DON'T HAVE TO DO THAT BECAUSE FOOD STAMPS GET AUTOMATICALLY SEPARATED" I said NO, I JUST NEED IT SEPARATED SO I CAN TAKE THEM IN FIRST. Then, she after ringing up an order for almost $200, my card had complications. So I asked her can you suspend this order while I run out, BUT it is my bank card, NOT a credit card and I told her let me run out and grab a new card. I suggested suspending the sale, she said "I'LL TAKE CARE OF IT!" I went out to the car to grab another credit card (also a bank card with again very sufficient funds available) and by the time I walked back in, she had VOIDED THE SALE OF OVER $185 ORDER AND SAID EVERYTHING HAS TO BE RE-RUNG! So okay, an inconvenience to both of us, BUT I let 2 or 3 customers go ahead of me so that I wouldn't hold them up, before starting to take all items out of the bags AND re-ring run EVERYTHING over again. The store manager that was ringing me up did a shift change with someone who was EXTREMELY POLITE AND PATIENT. Then at the end of this order, I input ANOTHER debit card AND IT DIDN'T WORK AGAIN! (again, very sufficient funds available) THE CHIP READER DOESN'T WORK AND THE ONLY OTHER REGISTER IS CASH ONLY. So again, I swiped the card and tried to use it as debit this time (early I had just pressed green button) and entered my PIN, and it would NOT go through. By this time, there were about 5 people in line waiting. I kinda felt bad for them to wait, they made a few snide comments. Then the store manager YELLED from across the store "MA'AM, YOU'LL NEED TO COME BACK WITH CASH" VERY LOUDLY. Of course, everyone heard that and I said, THIS IS A BANK CARD. NOT A CREDIT CARD. (bank on both cards is USAA. I am a military dependent.) I tried it several times and said, I'm NOT coming back here! *A little history about my spending habits at Dollar General... If you called the Murrysville or Monroeville store and asked about the woman that never leaves the store with less than a cart full and even an order OVER $1000 at Monroeville store because I shop for 3 homes, they would BOTH tell you that once I moved away, the realized and noticed a DIP in there monthly sales..... DEAR DOLLAR GENERAL..."BIG, BIG, BIG MISTAKE BECAUSE YOU ARE LITERALLY LESS THAN A MILE AWAY FROM WHERE I LIVE NOW!"

Love this particular DG in Plum Pa. Perfect location. Most outgoing, friendly staff. The store merchandise is arranged in a manner u would hope to see it arranged, it is very tidy. Not all DG`s are created equal.

The shop is very clean the parking lot is always cleared and that people are always energetic busy and pleasant I never had a bad experience there they are always very helpful very cheerful and the place is always well kept is it I enjoy going shopping there I am 77 years old and don't get around too well but they are always very friendly and helpful when I go there I write your place a five star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I like this store plus it's close to where I stay but they are often out of stock in a lot of their products. They seem to always have their inventory in boxes. Every time I go there, there's a bunch of boxes everywhere. There is hardly ever anyone stocking. They are also very short on workers. If there are a lot of customers in the store, you can expect a long wait. One time when I was there the line was all the way in back of the aisle. Other than that it is a decent store.

Great selection of things, especially food. Great prices. Store is neglected by district manager and many other people. Store down the street is great. This store is dirty. Understaffed. Makes it painstakingly hard to shop. Take two of the big trash bins that you sell and put them outside for public use. Tiny trash bin there currently is always overflowing and littering parking lot and All Washed Up Auto Spa's property. They have every right to sue Dollar General for littering their property. Other store I have visited in the area are great. This location is bad on so many levels. They need help on so many levels.
