6 Best discount store in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (PA) 2025

My fiancé and I bought a refrigerator 7 months ago and and it has already went out on us. Called the store and customer service there sucks. They have no idea what they are selling. The manager told us they just sell the stuff they don’t know where it comes from. They told us they only sell new and scratch and dent items but their website says they sell refurbished as well. It’s sad that you spend over 2k and 7 months later the compressor goes out on what they call a “new item”. We will never buy appliances from American Freight. This store really needs help with customer service skills as well. Rude people. ~Stephanie

This dollar general has gone down hill horribly. They close ALLLL the time leave no note on door.. they just close and leave us alll stuck.. and the store is a mess they never stock.. and everything is everywhere. They SUCKKKKK im tired having go up the road to other side penn hills when i live right here. They need get it together or just close period. I give 0 stars ~Tiffany

Very polite and helpful cashiers. Store is a little crowded but I imagine that comes down from corporate ,saying get all merchandise out on floor...don't care for that practice. But store employees are very kind . ~Sherri

This Dollar General sold a wide variety of foods and household products. The brands of products were both generic and name-brand. The aisles could have been a bit tidier, but I easily found what I was looking for. Prices were low. My cashier was very prompt and courteous in his service. ~Tiffany

Always been a good spot to get some basic essentials locally, and were really key during the pandemic if you wanted to avoid the bigger stores. My only critique is they can have one cashier with long lines and not always have the stock out yet. Still shop there. ~Ground

I stopped to pick up some snacks. The cashiers were friendly. Unfortunately a young girl threw up in the store and had tracked it throughout. Also, the store's temperature was very hot. There was a new cashier. Equally unfortunate a customer was giving her a hard time for being slow. The manager warned the customer indicating that behavior such as hers is the reason new employees quit. This abuse of employees needs to stop. Not sure where this aggression comes from, but everyone needs to treat others with respect. If you can't go home and don't come out until you've had a change in attitude! New people need to be given a fair chance ~Scott
