I regret trying to do my taxes with H&R block. TL,DR I paid them a lot of money so that I could essentially do my taxes myself. I will be doing them myself in the future, it is less stressful. The preparer did not understand the online system, and was unable to give instructions about how to send documents to her via the system. She did not respond to messages sent through the system either. She needed multiple calls to be reminded to look at my taxes. She apparently did not take notes when I explained which jobs were taxable in which state either. Nor did she remember that I never received one of my stimulus checks. I had to redo significant portions of multiple state returns, and will need to file an amended return to get my stimulus check (that is partially on me for not noticing before I signed, however we talked about it multiple times). I strongly discourage anyone from working with this office if you have digital documents.

Have used them in the past and they were ok but this year was horrible and the worse service I've ever experienced. They are offering only drop off tax preparation due to COVID, this part I understand and won't fault them. They do not however mention this at any point until you are in person at the door. When I booked the appointment online they gave me the option for drop off and in person, I choose the in person as that was my personal preference. If they didn't intend on offering it why have it as an option to begin with. Also when I mentioned who my advisor I scheduled am appointment with was they said that the appointment is not actually with that person but next available. The office overall was unprofessional, disorganized and lacked common courtesy. I definitely won't be returning.

My mom is an easy s-tier tax preparer. 100% easily the most knowledgeable professional in the game. If you need tax problems and you do not call Carol Vetter first, you're making a fool of yourself.

Really great. Kept up with me, in terms of what was going on, were very flexible in their hours, and timing, and really helped me find the best options to go forward even when the government itself was less than convenient, for me.

I went to this office for 2020 yr tax return and I have to say this was the worst experience at an hrblock I have ever experienced. The employees in the office on Salt Pond Rd are very rude! They angrily greet you at the door with a scowl on their face like you are bothering them. The only option I had was to drop off my documents (was not informed of that) even though my appointment was scheduled for in person. Once my taxes were ready for me to review, the tax advisor added an extra charge without consulting me about it. I couldn't even review my return until I accepted the TOS for the charge. Already upset by the experience I had, I had him remove the charge. After reviewing my return I had a couple of questions. He (HH) had already stated that if I had any questions for him to ask. Ok, I did. When I did, HH got seriously offended by the fact that I was asking questions. Paraphrasing...I have been doing these taxes for several years! You hired me for a reason, and you are questioning me about your return! We can end this right now and you can get your taxes done elsewhere!... one of the questions I had was about an obvious error he had made. He swore up and down he would make no such error! Well, turns out, he did. This error was eventually confirmed by HH, and also and a different office. He was all kinds of wrong. I'm not blaming hrb for their behavior, but I will never go back to that office. They have giant egos. Stay away from hrblock at 24 Salt Pond Rd.
