First off. I'm not a disgruntled former employee. This was a great job for me. I had a decent salary, great hours and0enjoyed the people I worked with and for. However the company is terrible. It is owned by investment companies who only care about profit. Not the employees in the least. The local managment in Greenville SC try but have tied hands but they have no loyalty for hard working dedicated employees. Dont ever believe they will be focused on your best interests. It has been sold several times and will be sold again so there is ZERO security. The benefits are ok but 401k has been discontinued and then resumed in the past so dont count on it. It is really bad for general employees. Raises are almost nonexistent for hourly. No regular raises in the last 4 years. If you do get a raise ecpect a dime an hour. Seen it first hand. Sorry. Not kidding. No performance based raises unless you are really good and threaten to quit. However they are very accomdating to employees. If you need time off for your kids, are in jail for a few weeks or like to quit and come back several times this is a great place. Also good if you like recreational drugs. They dont mind as long as you perform and dont come in completely blitzed. Plenty of overtime if you want it and way to much if you dont. If you work Digital Print plan to not have a life and a more controlling manager. If you work general production you can do almost anything you want as long as you get the mail out. In fact thats managements motto and mantra. So if you want lots of freedom, like to get high and dont care for rules this could be the place for you. However if safety, quality, performance pay and accountability are important stay away from Sourcelink. At least in the production, warehouse and maintenance functions. Office is somewhat better but same things above apply to some degree in those functions as well.

This is a weird place to describe. Management does appear to be friendly, for the most part. However, the lack of communication and work-related expectations is BY FAR the worst I’ve ever experienced. There are no standard operating procedures, and everyone has “their own way” of doing things. This leads to inefficient practices, variances in production, and quality issues. Workstations are patched together without (or with very little) consideration for ergonomics and efficiency. Employees lack access to the simplest of tools needed to perform their duties. For example, many employees have improvised knifes made of masking tape and sharpened pieces of metal (basically they use prison shanks) to open and break down corrugated boxes. The mail inserting machines are old and poorly maintained. Missing and defective parts are replaced with tape and rubber bands. Supervisors are decent guys but lack the basic communication and people skills needed to properly oversee employees. Having spoken with numerous employees, it is clear they stay with SL due to the laissez-faire company culture. They are willing to work overtime and weekends without prior communication in exchange for using their cell phones while operating machines, coming in late, and managements general disregard for performance standards. I suppose this sounds good if you’re young, don’t have a family, not seeking career advancement, or lack any other marketable skills. However, it's SourceLink’s customers that most assuredly suffer from the mismanagement of this company. There is no telling how much ROI is wasted/goes unrealized as a result of Sourcelinks business practices. Personally, if I owned a company that required mailing services, I would not feel confident supplying SourceLink with my customer's information. Their handling of sensitive customer information is truly alarming.

The other employees were great to work with, but management is detached. It took an act of God to get anything fixed/upgraded.
