Bob is, without a doubt, the best! The day we scheduled our trip ended up being very hot (Texas in August hot) with no wind....so not great for fishing. But Bob was so determined and patient and tried different techniques and moved spots and kept the kids entertained and catching fish. Those conditions could have very easily resulted in a terrible day on the water with bored kids, but Bob made the magic happen. Plus he was so good about explaining things to the kids, teaching them, and keeping them involved in all aspects of the trip. They had a blast, and we cannot wait to schedule another trip! Plus any guide who starts the morning off praying not only over your trip and the day on the lake, but over your kids and their upcoming school year, has me hooked for life!

You can tell right away that Bob is both passionate and professional in his quest to put his clients on fish! His boat is fully modern and upfitted with the best in comfort and technology, and his years of experience shine through for a successful trip. We fished in the heat of the summer and still caught 77 quality white bass, largemouth, and channel catfish on his impressive lures. Will absolutely book again!

My dad took me and one of his friends fishing with Bob. Caught 100 white bass and learned a ton about using side scan to find fish. Also got some great tips for finding white bass during July/August. Had a great time with family on Mr. Maindelle’s guided tour. 4hrs and 100+ fish caught!! Bob has everything you need onboard with a ton of radar and rigging equipment that he takes the time to teach you to use which really adds to the experience. Our group wasn’t new to fishing but a guided tour with Bob would be a blast for fishermen of ANY level! Bob is patient, knowledgeable and explains what your doing, where your fishing and exactly why. We will definitely be going back to Bob Maindelle and Holding the Line Guide Services in the near future! Thanks again Bob!!

My son and I are both fishing novices. We just spent a morning on Lake Belton with Mr. Bob and had the best time. He was very patient in teaching us exactly what to do to catch a lot of fish. We caught 127 fish in one morning! I’ve never had that kind of experience with any other guides. His equipment is second to none and he is very knowledgeable in everything we experienced. If you are an experienced angler or a true beginner and looking for a great time packed with learning, you MUST book with Bob... highly recommend!!!

Wether you are a beginner, a professional, someone trying to learn, or just a person looking for something new to do, Holding the Line Guide service is absolutely the boat to be on, SECOND TO NONE. For those who are not big into the fishing world or who are new to the sport, Bob Maindelle is literally a world famous fisherman, tho you wouldn't know it from his humble character. People come from all over the country to learn from Bob and follow his blogs. Mr. Maindelle also holds seminars on fishing electronics, gear, and anything else you can think of that pertains to fishing. He'll even go out on your boat to teach you all the things you wish you knew. A few years back I was just starting to learn to fish. After a year and half of trying to learn on my own, a friend of mine told me about Bob; so we booked a trip to go out with him. Bob was willing to teach us everything and answer any questions we had (which was MANY). He taught us about the electronics/fish finders on our boats, where to find fish, how they migrate, and so much more. Fast forward a year after practicing what Bob taught us in just one trip...my friend and I went from believing 1-3 fish for the day was an excellent day out on the water to 50-75 fish each time we go out. We still can't keep up with Bob, however; he caught 182 fish on Monday morning July 20, 2020. You read that correctly, 182 fish for the morning. Since our trip with Bob I have gone out with several other fishing guides. Bob was BY FAR THE BEST! No one is as professional as Bob. No one!!!!!! Perhaps Holding the Line spoiled me for my first experience with a fishing guide, but in comparison to Bob, all the other guides not only seem like amateurs, but some were unpleasant, really expensive, some had really junky boats and NONE of them could or were willing to teach us like Mr. Maindelle did. Holding the Line is by far the best place to learn about fishing, or just go to have a fun trip for the day with friends and family, hands down! 2nd to none! And best of all, IT'S RIGHT HERE in central Texas!!!!

Wow! What a great experience. Bob is a patient and gifted instructor with a wealth of fishing knowledge. As a life long saltwater fisherman, I was clueless about the techniques required in fresh water. Bob showed me the ropes and caught 73 fish (white bass, big mouth, and freshwater drum) in just three and a half hours. Plus he’s got a sweet rig! Definitely left with some boat and gear envy.

The experience yesterday afternoon was fabulous. Bob is an amazing guide. From the start he spent time explaining how everything work and taught us what we were looking for. He got us right on the fish within minutes of stepping on board the boat. His equipment on the boat is state of the art. We caught a lot of fish and it was a blast to get to experience that with my son. I have fished with Bob several times and have had a great experience every time. On my latest trip we had fishermen from 13 years old to 80 with each of us receiving excellent coaching and instruction that was age appropriate and produced results! Bob’s boat and all his fishing equipment is clean, well maintained, and ready to fish. In addition, Bob freely shares tips and techniques to help us catch more fish when we fish on our own. I can’t wait to apply what I’ve learned.
