Amanda in shoes was AMAZING! She helped me find a pair in my size by pointing out that my 10 1/2 size in women's was the same as 9 1/2 in men's. Sneakers in women's 10 1/2 are few and far between. They don't make them! My foot is in between 10 & 11. Go to the men's size! Amazing Amanda also found me a wonderful, comfortable pair on sale! I am so happy about my new shoes! Great job, Amanda! Great job, Academy!

The only reason I gave three stars is because they don’t honor their sale signs. The date of the sale had not ended, but the cashier said the sale code wasn’t working the day before, so she didn’t even attempt to try again. I recommended taking all of the 10% off signs down for military and first responders if they weren’t even going to try to actually honor it. She had no intention of calling anyone over to try to honor the discount or put in any kind of code for the 10% (I did ask). I know it’s not a huge discount-not make or break for some , but for others it may make a difference with the state of the economy right now. Great selection, typically friendly and kind staff.

Most employees are great here, but there's one younger, heavy-set guy in firearms who must dislike his job (didn't catch his name, of course). I've had to deal with him twice, and both times when I get to the counter there's no greeting, no speaking and he just stares at you. And not a single word out of him while he's showing you guns. If you go there and discover he's the one you're dealing with, better to just go to the Fairfield store and save yourself some aggravation.

Went there for 2 of my grandsons birthday parties. They took the kids around and did gymnastics, games, and then they served up the pizza and cake after. The kids all had a blast.

Gun and Ammo department - This is the 3rd visit in the past month. First looking at pistols, second purchased Sig P365 along with some accessories and third getting more ammo, loader and magazines. Each time helped by Kyle who is knowledgeable and PATIENT! He takes the time to explain the product and gives suggestions.

Decent stock of ammo. Good selection of other outdoor items. Golf section is smaller than it has been. Alot of items have been removed and only more popular items remain.

Went there to purchase fishing equipment. Have not fished in 30 years. Very knowledgeable people, both with where things are and explanations of why one product is better than others. They have really improved fishing equipment since 30 to 40 years ago. Red and white bombers are still around. Lead weights are replaces my tungsten. All metal fishing boxes are replaced with plastic or nylon luggage type bags. Bought quite a bit of stuff. They were really helpful. Also they will put line on your reel for free. Looking forward to fishing soon.
