The cutest toys in this store and i would love to spend time and money here but it smells oppressively like barbecue in the store, i assume it’s coming from the barbecue place a couple doors down, but it’s very strong in the store, like it hurts my nose and i can’t stay long, but if you want cute toys this is a good place (if you can handle the smell)

It’s not nearly as charming as it was before the remodel. It used to be wooden and old-timey with many shelves of interesting items. Now it seems to have a much smaller stock and is a more modern/open concept, which is kind of a shame. That’s just my personal opinion- maybe people prefer that- but I consider it a bit of a loss. Maybe it helps with the craziness of customers to have it be more open?

Oh my goodness okay so I found the CUTEST little toys here for gifts. I brought my daughter here and she also loved it and while we were here we also found a card game for my husband. Such a fun local place, I totally recommend coming here if you want to get some unique gifts

Ordered online from Blickenstaffs.com (wish I could visit this store in person bc it sounds fantastic). They had a nice selection of in-stock items. It was well packed, shipped very quickly and the items were perfect. The only thing is one item color requested was out of stock so it's great they quickly refunded me the cost but I would have preferred a chance to submit for a substitute color bc now I'm short one item for the kids - but I do appreciate their communications and the desire to send my package out lickety-split :) Overall, I would recommend and buy from them again. Thanks! Update 01/26/22: Wow, Blickenstaff’s Toy Store is quite a conscientious place of business who will try their best to make sure their customer’s shopping experience and satisfaction is a pleasant one. Besides stating they will implement my suggestion they even went so far as to fulfill my original out of stock item (plus some) just recently. The kids were beyond thrilled. Thank you to Aaron and Blickenstaff’s Toy Store!

My friends and I were having a fun time looking at all the games, toys, etc. of the store. Before the store closed, I was surprised to find that an employee turned off some of the lights and the music before 8 pm. It really changed the entire atmosphere of the cute toy shop. It was a good time but then, felt like we were getting rushed out before hours. Any thought of buying anything disappeared because I felt like I was supposed to take this hint and get out immediately.

What a fun store! I was surprised at how high quality the toys were and couldn’t help but pick up a few things for my little ones. If you’re into Montessori or Waldorf-style toys, you’ll love the selection here! Lots of HABA, Plan Toys, etc. My husband is a big board game aficionado and he was very impressed with the board game section. Overall, it’s clear that the inventory is very thoughtfully and intentionally curated. The toys may be more expensive than something you’d find at Walmart or Amazon, but they’re so high quality that I see them as worth the price.

Best toy store ever! Super fun atmosphere and the employees are energetic and always willing to help out! They have a great toy, candy, and card game selection and super helpful employees! (They know everything about games!) Not only do they have new product but they also have some nostalgic toys, games, and candy! I 10/10 would definitely recommend!

We always make it a point to stop and wander around Blickenstaff's when we're at the Riverwoods. There's so much to see with all the vintage games and toys- not to mention the new ones. My favorite part of the store is the reading corner and huge selection of children's books, they even have a section with tiered cushions to play or read on. The giant T-Rex model is also really fun.
