I have had my card for many years never been late or missed a payment. I havent used it in a while so i didnt realize they put a service fee on my bill. So i was 30 days late on a 12 dollar bill and they reported me to the credit agencies. So my credit dropped 49 points for a 12 dollar fee i didnt even by anything i wouldnt recommend this card to anyone

After my card didn't arrive when I opened a secured credit card in July 2022, I was assured that my account was successfully closed in August 2022 (when I called to cancel the card and account entirely). They waived the enrollment fee, but didn't return the deposit I had made to open the card. Now, I'm stuck waiting on long hold times to get someone on the phone. You can't even send an email through their online account system. You can only receive emails.

I'm a current Merrick Bank card holder. Merrick bank INSISTED on replacing my card. Merrick bank claims to have sent x3 separate replacement cards now. 2-3 week arrival on each replacement. All cards they claim we're lost in mail. I was even told by the Fraud dept that a new card was being Expedited by Fed-Ex 2-3 days. 4 days later I called again and was told it was sent through USPS that morning. RECORD YOUR PHONE CALLS ! This is a scam, if you keep your balance low and pay your balance regularly, then Merrick doesn't make any money. No card, no way to access your credit line. And NO, English isn't the service reps 1st language. Merrick bank only has Americans on Fraud/Card services rep lines. This is clearly a way to force you to close your inaccessible credit line account.

Do not apply for a credit card from this company, you are wasting your time. You may get approved but they charge an annual fee and they will not report payment history for months on end. It does more damage to your credit and wallet then it does good. Seriously don't waste your time

They are good about giving loans, I will give them that. However, we paid ours off 7 weeks ago and are still waiting on the title. About a week after they had the payoff in their bank, they drafted another payment. Do you think I am also still waiting on that refund? Why yes, I am. I have called 4 times. I get promises and run arounds. The latest is that they had the wrong zip code. Really? It's like a couple of minimum wage people sit in an office with no computers and party like it's 1999. How hard is it to take care of customers?

Applied for a Credit card which I never received. Called and spoke to a representative which told me they sent it out to a different address. I give him my address he said he updated, so I waited. I called again because It had been one month and I still didn’t receive it. When I spoke to them I was told it was sent to the old address again??? Finally, after three months. I receive my card but was meant with a lot of late fees which were reported to my credit report as late? How was I late when you said you needed my account number to make a payment. In other words. I closed my account. Don’t apply to this bank.

without any kind of warning they closed my long time account, in good standing, with zero balance and with a high credit limit because I had not charged anything in a year...which hurts my credit score. The rep said nothing she could do and couldn't re open it. This is an unfair practice in my opinion!

I am a Current Customer & and the Customer service is TERRIBLE!! I have NOT received the Mastercard that they're switching to & have called 3 times just to be Constantly transferred and put on hold for over an hr a piece and have Yet to speak to someone about canceling the card and sending me a New one. I will pay them off and Close this account for This VERY reason! STAY CLEAR OF THEM! IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!

Absolute worst. Multiple returned payments for no reason, unwarranted late fees. Can't get a hold of customer service. Tried making a payment with a debit card online and on the mobile app and it says it's a credit card, which it's not. Customer service constantly hangs up. I will be closing my account.

After they accepted my loan, I was involved in a accident. They helped to a point. We were always a month late. They then put us in a restricted like atmosphere. Always Calling wanting a payment when there was no money. We finally got back to work and these folks kept hounding us for payments. Even double payments. We finally got caught up and the people still hounded us to ensure payments. We got a loan just to pay these yahoo's off. They jerked us around and claimed it too 3 weeks for the check to arrive from another bank! I'd believe that if we still had the pony express. I ended up having to fork out another $28.00 just keep them out of my hair because they held onto the check past the payoff date! Just to get that final dig at us!. Paid and never again will do business with! And do not recommend.
