We were driving from N.Y. state to NC and began to hear lots of noise from our front passenger tire. We stopped at an auto parts store, determined it was the wheel bearing and tried to change the hub assembly ourself, but we're unable to because of not having the correct tools. We limped on a few more miles to Amherst and got a motel as it was already late. In the morning we called a couple places to see if anyone could change it and get us back on the road. The first shop said no, Gregory said next week, but when we explained the problem he said bring it on in and I will get you fixed. It was a great experience. He sent us next door to Edith's to eat while we waited and sent us a ride over when he was done. In the time it took us to eat and pay, my truck was done and road ready! He even got it done cheaper than any quotes we had gotten for parts AND labor! Truly a wonderful experience and a blessing to end up at his shop. I can't thank him enough. I highly recommend this shop and the compassion these 2 showed us and got us back on the road cheap and fast.

So being new to Amherst County we were looking for a garage for general auto repairs. Gregory's Auto Repair was suggested. Our first experience was such a positive experience and we felt like our business was appreciated and cost effective. The second time we took our Escape in only part of the work was completed but we were told he "didn't want to touch that." We are fine with this since it was a specialty job. Last week we scheduled an appointment for this week. We accepted the time we were given, dropped off my Escape the night before and waited until late in the afternoon to see if a simple oil change, fuel filter change and a belt replaced had been completed for our pickup only to be told nothing was done. We were told we could pick it up the following day. That might be fine if you don't work, can work on their schedule, if your time wasn't valuable and if your customer service skills are not present. We felt like he has more customers than he can service and like he doesn't want or need our business. Therefore he won't get it. I would not suggest this garage.
