I wish there were more than 5 stars. These were some of the nicest most honest people we have ever come across. We are on vacation from out of state and lost our wheel bearing. They were the closest shop we found on a Friday afternoon. We explained our situation, and thought we may have to cut our vacation short because we didn’t know how long it would take to get fixed. They were able to squeeze us in and get us back on our way. One of the most honest mechanics we’ve ever dealt with.

These guys were super great. I was from out-of-town and needed the work done right away or my trip would have been completely messed up. They got me in, dealt with the problem and helped with another. The work was quality and the price reasonable. And, they were lovely to deal with. Can't say enough good things! Sadly, I used to think that this place was the best in terms of price, customer service, respect for their customer and they wouldn't manipulate customers for utmost illicit profit. It seems to be an unattainable dream, there is no such fair or honest Auto Repair shop here at all. I went to this place every time for yearly INSPECTIONS, I was shocked when the owner called me informing me that my car didn't pass the test because of the front and pack complete shock struts! He informed me that I have to pay $1.250 thousand to replace them. I tried to bring the price down with the business owner to $750 or even $900 he refused. He was very unfriendly and wanted to hang up the phone. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, having no other solution after telling me the car will have a rejection sticker, I had no choice but to change the 4 shock struts for around $1100! Let me assure those who think my car is very expensive that it isn't, the price cannot exceed $3,000. Frankly, I didn't know what was the loaded strut, so I had to check it, then I discovered that the most expensive 4-set loaded strut - for the front and rear, driver and passenger side was $341.99!!! According to Northam said, “Data shows that there is no connection between highway safety and these inspections. That’s why 35 other states don’t have them.” If the state's motor vehicle safety inspection program is eliminated, what will North Main Auto Repair and other such businesses do? NO ITS YOU!!!! DON'T PLEAD IGNORANCE! DENYING ALL THE FACTORS AND HOLDING ONTO A WORD WOULD NOT RELIEVE YOU FROM YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES. Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Auto emissions testing

To all whom are interested, if you have an issue and need general maintenance of more serious repair...this is the only place to go in Blacksburg. Mike and his team are in one word...FANTASTIC. My daughter had an accident in town and needed a new radiator. Mike and his team were more than fair, provided exceptional service and turned the car around quickly so that my daughter could leave town for a family event. We have used Mike before but I am always shocked but then reminded of just how awesome this business is. They epitomize customer service, fairness and professionalism. Brought my truck in to replace a very rusted and corroded starter that I couldn't get off myself. The actual cost was under what they quoted and it was done the next day! They even installed my own part I brought in for no extra charge. The new starter was not working right initially, but they took it back in and worked on it after hours and fixed a coincidental issue at no charge.

Called North Main and they had it towed, diagnosed (needed battery only), and repaired in less than 24 hours - after being told by a couple of other local repairs shops that it would be several weeks before they could even look at it.
