I've worked with Max S. and Nathan G. for a couple of years now (total accounting care) and as a small business owner in Northern VA I have a million things to worry about every day; however, my taxes and books are not one of them. When we moved to Virginia last year, we were recommended to contact Michelle Hecker of Stitely and Karstetter. This was the best advice given to us. We met initially to discuss our finances and a tax planning meeting for our income tax returns. Ms Hecker has walked us through and filed all our tax papers and returns. Then a big bonus to us was their Shredding event held last week. We could safely shred our papers and old financial papers right at the Stitely and Karstetter facility. Nothing but great things to say about Michael T. Westwick, CPA. My wife and I both run our own business, have w-2 jobs, plus my out of state income. Michael is always responsive during the year about my tax questions and goes over every detail come tax time to assure us the best return. I was sure we’d owe for 2019 and instead we are getting a satisfactory refund from state and fed. Highly recommended.

I’ve always prided myself in using Turbo Tax to do my taxes for my business and personal tax returns. As my small business has grown, I thought I should consult a CPA. Michael Westwick was recommended by a friend, so I had a conversation with him late last year about my taxes. He recommended I switch my business to an LLC and make a late election to file as an S-Corp for 2018. We did and we were accepted in early 2019 after the IRS re-opened from the shutdown. This move saved me about $15,000+ in self employment taxes for 2018. I always followed all of the prompts in Turbo Tax and took every deduction that I was able to, but working with Michael has made me realize that you can change the rules of the game and fall into different categories which result in different questions (and deductions and tax advantages). I still can't believe how little taxes I paid for last year (both for business and personal). I highly recommend Michael and his team, they are real pros who know what they are doing. They have world class service too... quick communication and their online portal makes uploading and receiving documents a breeze. WOW!

I very much enjoyed working with my new accountant, Michael Westwick. Before we even talked about taxes, he took the time to get to know me and my financial situation, which I appreciated very much. He also asked me a lot about future considerations tax wise. During the process he was consistent about following up and responding to my questions, with both candor and good humor. Frank is our lead contact and the process for working with him and reviewing our taxes could not be easier. Everything is done through an online portal and Frank doesn't leave out any details. Not only have we saved money but we feel like Stitely & Karstetter really cares about us. If you're unhappy with your current tax person, make the switch. Frank will make it easy and well worth your while!

Our CPA here, Frank, has done my personal and company taxes the past 2 years. They have NOT been easy financials, but Frank handled them with ease. There have been no issues whatsoever and he's saved us from paying loads of unnecessary taxes. His knowledge is fantastic and is still helping us with various highly specific needs throughout 2017.
