I usually go to banfield but it can be really difficult getting an appointment. I had been told my dog needed an ultrasound and this was the only place that actually worked to get me and my pup in. They're kind and caring. In my dog's 9 years of life, this is hands down the most attentive vet, who actually took thorough notes. It's also super affordable. They did multiple tests, including a urine screen, and that urine screen at banfield was the price of everything I got done at companion. It's 45 minutes away but I would definitely go back! Everyone in that office was so nice and caring, it really makes a difference!

Offers an excellent grooming experience for our long-haired cat, Peaches. She returns home beautifully coiffed, with snarls and knots removed, a healthy coat and a 100% improved "cattitude"! I have never been inside the office as the practice continues to follow Covid-19 protocols and the grooming sessions began in 2020. I am a fan of the consistent professionalism, staff friendliness/helpfulness and the attention to grooming details.

I am so thankful I found Companion Animal Clinic. My dog had to have emergency surgery (not at Companion) and they were so kind and thoughtful when I called to schedule a post-op visit. They removed her staples and seemed to genuinely care about my dogs’ recovery. We will be referring them to all our family and friends!

I can’t say enough good things about this clinic. Our pup is what they call a “frequent flyer” so we’ve gotten to know the staff pretty well. Every person we interact with, from the front desk to the techs and of course the vets, are incredibly helpful and friendly. They’re always more than happy to answer our questions (we’re new dog parents so we have a lot) whether we’re at the clinic or on the phone. If you’re looking for a new vet, please consider coming here!

This is a great establishment. The doctors are very knowledgeable. The take extremely great care of your animal companions. We took our puppy and they were very attentive and communicative they all aspects of the process. This is our first dog and they provided all the necessary info to assist us. We boarded our dog here for Xmas vacation. Do not use them as our vet, but had heard good things about them and their hours were better than our vet for picking her up when we returned. The check in process went well enough and we didn't hear anything while we were gone, so we assumed no news was good news. At pick up, we didn't get any feedback how she did or ate or anything at all. Other places have given us a "report card" on her stay and that would've been nice. She is an old dog and we really would've liked it to know how her stay went. We will see if we will use them again in the future.

i have been bringing my cats and dog to this vet clinic for about 2 years, they’ve always been super professional and kind. their prices are very reasonable and all the front desk staff i’ve interacted with are super kind! last september my cat passed away suddenly and they were super kind and gave us a room to grieve and when we were ready, talk about how i and my family would want to take care of him after his passing. they gave me resources to reach out to about how to deal with grief after the loss of a pet, i found it very useful. another aspect of companion animal clinic i appreciate is how organized they are with going in person to pick up medicine or drop off your pet for nail trimming or others (you call the number on the sign out front or website, explain what you’re there for, then they come out and give you the medicine, or whatever steps you’re there for!) i’m always pleased with this clinic, thank you for all you do !

We live in Alexandria and needed to find a new vet for our dog, Maxwell. Our old vet was not cutting it out for us—expensive, and unprofessional. Came across the rave reviews for Companion Animal Clinic. Appt set up was easy. When we arrived we called to let them know we were outside (still adhering to covid protocols, which is nice). After a short wait, the vet tech called us and we gave some details of pets background, and eventually they came out and took Maxwell in for his check up. We got a call from Dr Kimberly McGrath, who I must say is amazing! She was so polite, friendly, professional, courteous and respectful. She went over Maxwells check up for 20-25 min and highlighted a few important things we may want to follow up on (teeth cleaning, which is definitely needed). We didn’t feel rushed to get off or anything. We’ve been to many vets with many moved along the east coast and this place is one of the best. We were so happy with how Maxwell was treated and will be going back soon for his teeth cleaning. I HIGHLY recommend this spot to take your pet for any needed medical reasons. We are so grateful we found Dr. McGrath and Maxwell is thankful too!
