It has become a chore to feed my reptiles a healthy diet from this place. The crickets die so quickly after getting them home. Often there are at least 5 dead when I get home. (25min trip) after 24hrs at least another 5 die. My holding tank is clean and at optimal temp. I've also tried the live worm varieties and the way they store them is completely sloppy and no wonder why the tubs are full of dead worms. I've purchased multiple tubs that didn't even have the amount listed on the tub. Like they transfer live worms to other tubs and don't manage the count. Lastly, their prices are overly inflated for general items like tank mats and bulbs etc.

Very helpful staff. The young lady walked with me to the rear of the store to find the peanuts I was looking for. It was appreciated rather than just pointing to the general area.

Would hesitate to call this a pet store. It is just a low quality cat and dog food store. There is no variety for any other type of pet, they had no frozen rats in stock and when calling ahead to this and other petsco places the one time they answered rudely said they only have cat and dog food.

I received exceptional customer service. I would recommend Lakewood Petco to anyone who loves their pet. Our pets are our children, pet o makes sure we can provide the living care our pets needs.

One star not for PetCo, but for the VETCO team that just saw my dog, Sunday 8/28/22. In seeking affordable vax, I seriously sacrificed good service. The entire experience was horrible! Both my service dog and I left there very upset and agitated. Lesson learned, don't sacrifice quality care for affordability. Pay the extra vet fee, you'll get better service and a more peaceful experience.

Looking for a plant for my aquarium. Needed something small. I went through everything they had in stock...even the big ones. All but two had large black spots, rotting plants. Sorry looking stuff. Normally, I like Petco....great place for dog and cat stuff. My dog is gone and now I have a fish. Bad fish stuff. Good dog stuff.

DONT BUY THEIR SALTWATER FISH!!! Bought a Blue Tang fish, along with a couple Clownfish. Drove home, maybe 10mins away from the this location, and the Blue Tang was barely even moving. But acclimated her to the tank for 30mins or so and floated out. Not breathing or swimming. She had a white ish on her belly. After waiting to be sure she passed, I called Petco and I was told to bring the dead fish in. But my hubby had read on the Petco.com website NOT to bring the dead fish to the store but instead take a photo and contact customer service. So prior to going to the store I contacted customer service and was told to go to the local store because customer service can not issue a refund/replacement unless purchased at Petco.com. So I go to the Lakewood location where they were purchased. Talked to the associate upfront and explain what happened but that I needed to keep it low key because my special needs daughter who had been saving her money to get her fish didn't understand what/why/where her "Dory fish" went. The associate was very understanding and said yes of course just go back to the fish area and get the replacement and let the lady working in the aquarium know. So I did just that and she says they can't replace with the other Blue Tang nor could we purchase it, because it was sick. And then said they don't return saltwater fish. But to talk to a manager. So I go back to the front and asked for a manager. She wasn't there but was told to contact Alecia the following day, and that they would get it all taken care of because they wouldn't upset my daughter. I called the following day, and asked for Alecia. She said well "I don't know anything about fish." Put me on hold for a minute and comes back and says sorry we won't be giving a refund or exchange. And hangs up.

Paid extra to help with my dogs shedding. Then I was over charged at check out. I had to go back for a refund. As I was walking back into the store the groomer and the cashier was talking badly about my dog because she wasn’t used to them or their dryer. I asked to speak with the manager and they both laughed at me. My dog park as still not brushed fully. She still smelled really bad. I doubt I will be back. I wouldn’t suggest. I updated my phone online and while I was there in person. They texted the wrong number and didn’t even update my information. So my poor dog was sitting in petco for a hour. When I went in to check on her they didn’t even apologize or make sure to update again. I wasn’t even given the managers information. I am so upset I don’t even want to step inside another petco again. My dog looks rough and wasn’t even fully brushed.

3 sick and decaying fish in yellow water placed on the top shelf out of most people's view. none of the other betas were visibly sick. this was not an accident, the employees got extremely embarrassed and defensive, had NOTHING to say.
