While traveling home from Medford Wisconsin to Tyrone PA my alternator went out on my truck now I am a ASE certified technician I pulled into their lot because it was the closest place that I could think to get an alternator so I went into their Tire Service Center asked if they could order me an alternator they said yes but they don't do any alternator work I said that was fine I was an auto tech so all I would need is a 10 mm and a 15 millimeter wrench change it in their parking lot while the gentleman that I was speaking to was contacting O'Reilly's for the alternator the lady behind the counter said unfortunately it's against store policy to lend out our tools and I said seriously I'm going to be 20 feet from your door and you get the sale on a $260 alternator so she proceeded to say she didn't care what my predicament was that was store policy and there was no exceptions at that point the gentleman had gotten off the phone with O'Reilly's and informed me that they had both of the alternators that or for my truck so I probably thanked him for doing the legwork finding out where the alternators were and I left and drove to O'Reilly's thankfully they were only 10 minutes down the road and I had enough battery to drive my truck there where they were more than happy to let me use their tools to change out my alternator the employees this store went far above and beyond then I couldn't have been happier to have somebody crossed them they saved me hundreds of dollars by letting me use some of their tools that they did not have to!!!!
