Looking for an affordable grocer to help with expensive bill - I found American Discount Foods. The East Mesa location has fewer options, but has some of the best deals found in the main location. The place is clean, the people friendly, and quality is better than I'd expected for a discount food store. We've had some really good meals and treats that I wouldn't have been able to do on a budget.

Now, I give this place 5 stars for the potential it offers people to feed large families on a ridiculously low food budget. Meals purchased here almost MUST be planned as most items here are at the end of past expiration date. If you put the work into planning meals for the week, this place is a gold mine. If you're like me & want food to stay fresh for quite some time after purchase, I would recommend another full retail store like Albertsons or Fry's.

Definitely check out this place if you are looking to save some money on groceries. We come here before doing our regular grocery shopping because quiet often, they have exactly what I need for 25 to 75% off what it would cost anywhere else. Staff are helpful and friendly.

My husband and I went for Memorial Day special. What a kind thing to do for military vets. I walked away with excitement that lasted all day and prayed for the owner that God will continue to bless him and his business for giving away this gift of food. Thank you American Discount Foods. I love your store and love the treasure hunt. I have put your research on expired food to the test and all is good. Only items I found to use quickly are seeds and nuts I experiment with all expired and they are perfectly fine. The savings is wonderful and I feel like a very smart shopper to extend my budget with your store. Thx u again!

Sometimes good deals, but prices has increased and some stuff around same price as stores. If you want fresh food maybe easier buy grocery store on days that there are sales on items. prices here change daily as come in one day it's this price come back get more price has increased . with that said I'd rather pay going price for something with longer shelf life then stuff here is almost expired or past expired so it's good if you use right away or freeze to use later, but if u shelf iteams for long time this may not be place for you.

It was worth the trip! Very bare bones but worth it for the prices. Keep an open mind here. Meat is always going to be deep frozen, skip the produce aisle. If you run a food business or just cook a lot this is the place to go to save money

Excellent prices, kind helpful caring employees. My grandson has autism and one of the employees just kept him laughing each time we shop. What an amazing group of great Christian people.

Great place to shop! Some of the items are extremely discounted. You can't shop for your weekly groceries but you can certainly find items to stock up on. You will find things you can't normally find in one of the local chains. The employees are always friendly and are more than happy to help

All the meats I have bought have been great. Shoppers should examine expiration dates and determine if it’s something they will use up quickly or are willing to eat expired. As long as shoppers know the major grocery store prices in their area they will be able to tell what is a real DEAL and what they would be willing to pay full price on to have a longer shelf life. Otherwise, staff is friendly, the store is well organized, and clean.

Their guarantee is honored. Bought some food items that I went to return for different reasons and they refunded with no problems. Purchased frozen breaded chicken that were excellent, baked it and all 5 of us liked it. Cereal past the pull date was still great, honey, Trader Joe’s hot dogs past the pull date were still good, organic grass fed beef (frozen) was past the pull date by months and it was great! Items I returned… Salad nuts/seeds were rancid, oatmeal granola bars were flavorless, banana chips had no flavor and a few other things. So don’t be afraid to take a chance! (And do not take those things as a negative for the store and what they are doing. So much food is thrown out when it can be sold. Stores like these are wonderful to sell food that is still great!)
