Man this place was off the chain, came with wifey for lunch our first time here. Definitely going back for rd 2. Go back a couple more hundred times actually, is that good. Got to have a beer with my sandwich. Staff was amazing. Good music. Alright Nashville, I see y'all.

Hey You, yes you reading this review. Congrats because you just found the best Nashville chicken spot in Tempe if not all of Phoenix. Perfect seasoning on the chicken and the fires are unreal. Greg the owner is one of a kind and you can tell he put his heart and soul into this place. Definitely a must try

the best hot chicken i have ever had!!!!!!! medium spice went so perfect with the coleslaw on the sliders. the four peaks “slangin lager” was amazing. 10/10. so happy to have this gem in tempe.

Ordered take out and they forgot our honey, gave us the smallest amount of fries for $5!!! The mac and cheese tasted so crazy, far too cheesy, not authentic, tasted like frito lay cheese in a can on noodles no offense . The sauce tastes so basic. The chicken, waffles and fries were good though, and well seasoned. I was so excited but let down to be honest.

This place is the best. Got the wings 😋.Hot fresh awesome sauce large wings. very clean with a somewhat open kitchen. We could hear the wings drop and smell the goodness. The staff was great.I will be going back to try the chicken and waffles. If you get a chance stop in you will not be disappointed.

If you like Nashville hot chicken, then you will LOVE this place. I got their signature Slangin' Bird sandwich and I swear it was like God Himself crafted my meal- it was HEAVENLY delicious! You can practically taste the care and dedication put into making this awesome food. My only regret was not getting another sandwich to take home with me and enjoy later since I live semi far away, and this restaurant closes a little earlier than most on Mill Ave. Do yourself a favor and try this place if you haven't already! I'm certain you will be very satisfied!!

Fries were soggy. “Manager” or whoever he was complained because I wanted to add on my order. He said “this dude really wants fried pickles too”. It’s just rude. Yeah I came in 35-40 minutes before you guys closed, but don’t make it obvious that you are complaining about an order that I am paying for. And you’re also getting paid, so there shouldn’t be any complaints, if you want to complain then go somewhere else. I got a good amount of food, not my fault you guys want to be open until midnight and get fussy that I want to order in the time of operating hours, I had no clue it worked like that. As a M.A.N I Meet All Needs. So I most definitely wouldn’t try making someone feel bad for ordering more to their order. Sad. Hopefully this wakes someone up to become a better person. It’s funny because he didn’t actually think I heard him. Maybe when you talk about a customer you can wait before I leave.Very immature of an almost 30 year old to be acting in that manner.

Workers were friendly, order was taken correctly with no issues. Food was ready in a timely fashion. The chicken sandwich was really good, fries were really good. The price was a little high but the portion of the chicken sandwich was large.

This is a fresh start up, and the owners are likely the ones you'll meet at the register or see at the grill. Luke was the one I met, and he was way cool. A great place to chill in the middle of the high energy on Mill Ave.

As a former Nashillian, I was a little skeptical having had the original Nashville hot chicken. I was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The chicken had the right amount of heat, was fresh. The fries were good. I'm totally sold on this place.

The chicken sandwich was fricken delicious. I ordered the medium (break a sweat) & it was a little spicy but not overwhelmingly spicy. My friend ordered the hottest & to be honest it wasn't insanely spicy/hot. The fries with the seasoning was also delicious. Overall I would definitely come back here.

Folks, this is the best tasting chicken in Tempe. I was in the Navy and have been to countries like Japan, India, Hong Kong, Thailand and I would eat chicken nearly every time I got off the ships I served on because it's my favorite food, and because you can only eat Navy food for so long. Greg was such a pleasure to speak with. My first visit was about 2 weeks ago and I'm sharing some photos from that visit as well as this one. He was good to advise me on the spice levels and the different seasonings. I went back again today to try a different spice level and of course since the serving was so much I have to bring some home. Greg really made the experience great, he was patient and helped me make the right decision on what to get. I also got the macaroni and cheese as an additional side which was nicely seasoned as well. Great customer service, great tasting food and great portions, nice big screen TV. I mean this place has it all, definitely check it out. May 1, 2022 Update Came back again yesterday and today, I'm really loving the mild and medium flavors the best. One of these days I'll get bold again and go for the hot but in the meantime, the quality is amazing so definitely check it out. Tip: You can get the tenders separately without fries if you're doing a keto or low-carb diet like I am. Don't miss out on this place just because you're dieting. Wait time is about 7 minutes both days which is fantastic for fresh delicious chicken.

Dang...I'm waiting for a name change to "Slangin' Deliciousness"! I had my first Nashville Hot Chicken experience at this palace of poultry and have to say that I love it. I don't just love spicy food, I crave spicy food and Slangin' Birdz (a.k.a. Deliciousness) definitely knows how to make spicy taste amazin'!

This place is okay. Chicken.is good and has good heat. Would like to see more than 1 pickle on my sandwich. The fries were mediocre at best. The pudding which actually looked really good, unfortunately was a downer.

I don't care what anyone says I've traveled to niche states in search of a fire chicken sandwich and an authentic one. By far the best chicken sandwich iv'e ever had and encourage everyone to blow this place up and let the owner expand. Not only is the food amazing but the owner who I met the first week of opening was the most humble person ever good for you keep thriving.

I live locally and was excited to try this place. I walked in and it smelled stinky as hell. The blonde lady working the counter was very rude. About the chicken, it came out cold and looked gross honestly. I went back to tell them and the cashier was very rude even though she messed up my order. fyi this place was about twenty bucks for a meal. the manager was nice and I could tell he felt bad but he didn't really do anything to make it right he just said he was so sorry. I will not be back. Monroe's Chicken is right down the street has better chicken, service, and it comes out hot. I will not be back. I am glad I know now and I will let my friends know too.

This place is so good! Their hot chicken is the best I’ve tried in Arizona. The sauce is so good, it complements the chicken well. They also have really good waffles, fluffy and flavorful. Would definitely come back next time I’m in town.

The chicken sandwich may seem expensive but it’s high quality, delicious, and surprisingly filling for a big guy like me. Same thing for the banana pudding; it’s a bit expensive but is incredible. Also for someone who frequently gets irritated when the spicy food option at restaurants is mild at best, the level 5 is the real deal!

What an amazing experience! It feels like you’re walking into another city. The restaurant really seemed to put time in creating an ambiance. Ok now here is the down and dirty about the food. It’s really good. Portions are huge! Chicken has flavor and good even kick. Slanginbirdz you guys have done it well. The sides are a whole another story, they have fried pickles!! Seriously can’t wait to try the different beers they have coming in soon!

Hands down one of the best Nashville style chicken joints in town! The food is absolutely delicious, be carefully of their hot! It's actually really hot!!! Beautifully designed and spacious. Let's not forget about the customer service, Greg was an absolute delight. We found our new luch spot for work.

The chicken sandwich here is about as close to authentic Nashville Hot Chicken as you can get here in the Valley. Great sandwich with a burn that hurts so good! The bun is soft, slightly sweet and the chicken breast is large and succulent. The coleslaw on top gives it a nice balance. Price is a bit high for the sandwich, even ala carte, but the taste is so dang good that you’ll forget about that real fast. The customer service is excellent. I hope this spot can make it in the bustling competitive atmosphere that is Mill Ave.

Love hot chicken, and love that we finally have some great spots in the Phoenix metro area. I have tried Crazis , Monroe’s, Mrs Chicken, and several other hot chicken restaurants in Nashville and other cities. Heat: 5/10. You can taste the peppers but not sure if there was a pepper in there any hotter than cayenne. Crazis reigns supreme when it comes to their hot heat. Definitely hotter than Monroes though. Service: 6/10: it was faster than other spots around town. The cashier was friendly but just in a general cashier sense. Nothing outstanding. Flavor: 5/10 a bit bland. Not as much flavor as Crazi’s in Tempe or as Hattie Bs in Nashville. Tastes like a basic recipe I have found online. Presentation: 2/10: they give you this huge box and the sliders are just a breast cut in half. Wasn’t expecting that since we’re used to the giant tenders that make a slider at Daves or Crazis. Also no sauce came with the fries. Which were bland as well, just seasoned with black pepper. I would give this place some time and I’m sure that this could be a decent hot chicken option. But until then I’m going to continue to frequent my favorite spots around town. Good luck Slangin team!

Best hot chicken I have ever had. Chicken was crisp and juicy. Fries were golden and crispy. The seasoning they used for the chicken and fries is unbelievably delicious with a hint of sweet. Environment in the restaurant is unique with cool graphics. Employees were professional and nice. Definitely recommend 10/10. Will be back.

Great costumer service can’t deny that , Food Was Made Fresh To Order , The Box Was Nice and great presentation , I got the chicken sandwich and fries NO drink came out to about 16$ very pricy , sandwich had no flavor at all neither did the fries looks can be very deceiving people lol!!! Most definitely my new lunch spot!!! Sarah was amazing!!! She took my order over the phone and was super friendly and professional. Upon arrival I was immediate greeted with a warm smile. Sarah even remembered me from the call and addressed me by name. (Which was amazing!!) I was out in no time. I ordered the slanging fries. They are my favorite. The chicken is so juicy and tender. The fries are seasoned and cooked to perfection.Will definitely come back soon.

Good food but a little pricey. Also they don't mess around with the spice levels. I like spicy foods but "Hotter than your X" nearly had me keeled over (not entirely certain I didn't get the highest spice level by mistake).

I LOVE spicy foods, and holy cow did SB deliver on their spice level promises. The “hotter than your Ex” seasoning hurt so good! (If you have a delicate digestive system, be warned.) Not cooked to death like most fried chicken places and no flavor is sacrificed for heat. Super friendly servers (thanks Sarah!) who seem to really care about making the business a success. Unfortunately $15 for 3 chicken tenders and fries is a bit out of my budget, so it will have to be a special occasion spot rather than a regular inclusion like I’d hoped.

This is by far the best hot chicken I have ever had. Very crispy, juicy and flavored exactly right, perfect seasoning, on top of all of that,their signature sauce is the best! Restaurant itself is very cool, employees are very nice, overall great environment. 100% would recommend and would definitely come back again!!
