Let me start by saying most associates at this location are very helpful and pleasant. I want to warn other consumers that management (Tiffany)is not as pleasant as the associates working under her when it comes to giving great customer service, listening to a customer grievance. I will say she did not get extremely nasty or irate so I am thankful for that. I am attaching the bottom of my receipt, please be aware despite what the receipt by corporate states at the bottom of every receipt. At this location they do not honor returns or exchanges with No exception if it is considered a seasonal item now as most customers of this establishment know a good percentage of what they sale is seasonal and even though the receipt states differently they will not honor return or exchange. I purchased items unused for a children charity, these items were unused and they would not under zero circumstances allow me to exchange. If this is corporate policy as she stated then should be added to policy stated at the end of the receipt.

Nice things for my daughter's bridal shower. Good value for a lot of things. Felt bad for the cashier as she asked for back up and no one helped her.

Cashier who also turned out to be the store manager is not wearing a mask. When told that at the entrance a sign said that customers without masks are not allowed and shouldn't this apply to the employees, her only response was: " I am not wearing a mask". And few seconds after the card was inserted to the payment machine and the display showed it was processing she said it was declined and asked to pull the card out. The card was used about 10 minutes ago at nearby Walmart. When we called the credit card company later we were told that nothing was wrong with the card and the problem should be at the store. When another card was used it did work. They have a plexiglass but not between the credit card payment machine and the cashier and social distancing not possible when using the machine and communicating with the cashier when she is facing and saying that it is declined. It would probably be understandable if she in a professional manner told her reason whatever it is when she was asked since mask is required both by her company and by City of Tempe, but a rude response and telling a customer that the card was declined when it was not is not acceptable.

This is one of the best stores around. (I deducted a star because, like many stores, they are understaffed.) Always a great selection and obviously the prices are amazing! I always get more than I came in for. I wish I had discovered them years ago. I save SO much money.

Rude customer service. I called the store to ask about a specific item. The person answering the phone was “Nicole” (I might not be spelling the name correctly) but she was so rude. She told me that she knew that all the spray bottles were stocked in the Morning and they weren’t any left. I asked her if she could leave the register or have someone else checking for me and she said she was busy. I told her that I was calling from another location(not true) and she put me on hold for two seconds and then came back to the phone to tell me that she checked and they didn’t have any spray bottles available. I worked retail for 14 years(upper management positions). I know exactly what happened and I’m sure that I can go to the store right now 7:28pm and find what I was looking for. Horrible customer service and rude approach by the associate which she stated that she was part of the management team. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE OVER THE PHONE AND FOR SURE NOT GOING TO VISIT THIS LOCATION.

This store is an absolute mess. Hard to believe any retail store is kept so dirty. The staff are nice and friendly, but it seems like no one takes pride in the store. It's a very unpleasant atmosphere to shop.

What happened to this store? I stopped by yesterday & was surprised at how messy it was, but really shocked at how dirty it was. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. I’m disappointed because I’ve shopped there for years & have never seen it like this. I did not purchase anything because things were in such disarray or shelves were empty.

This store is a disgrace. Only 2 shopping carts and no hand held baskets, they said you had to use a small laundry basket. There was trash all over the store, merchandise boxes up and down the isles (Big injury hazard), items on shelves were mixed and messed up, hard to find what you were looking for and out of stock on quite a few things. If I could give a minus as a rating I definitely would.

Great for party supplies. They have cocktail napkins in various colors, table cloths, and very nice looking serving platters for a buffet party, which could be used again. I asked the staff if they had skewers for hors d'oeuvres, they said no, but I actually found them there, 1 dollar a pkg was a great deal, so are greeting cards, packages of clear cellophane bags for gifts and cookies, good to stock up. Right after Christmas, they have a 50% discount on Christmas wrap, best time to stock up for next year!

I like Dollar Tree and have been to quite a few locations, but this is hands-down the worst so far. It's always been marginal, but has really taken a downturn in the last few months. Inventory control seems non-existent - they will be totally out of different items at different times. This lack of consistency is the reason yesterday was my last trip there ever. I can put up with the messy aisles filled with boxes and apathetic employees, but if they don't stock the items I need, I'm taking my business to another location. There are too many Dollar Trees to patronize one that under-performs.

Dollar Tree Tempe at Groves center. It's a dollar store, you dont expect much. But my goodness there is trash all over every aisle. They must not own a vacuum. Its trashy and filthy. Things are everywhere. The staff is nice and I always find what I need. But do I need to step on papers and potato ships all over the floor as I'm shopping. Have some pride. Geez.

I arrived at 8:15 this morning to beat the morning cluster at the dollar tree on Elliot in Tempe. (They are scheduled to open at 8:00am on Fridays.) Only to find the employee, stuck outside waiting for her manager to arrive and unlock the door so she can start her shift. In my opinion, maybe the hourly employee should be Managing if she’s already doing what the manager should be doing! Very poor management! Sad really! Kudos to the employee for arriving on time when even her manger couldn’t!

Decent amount of things in store, always an issue with only having one cashier and a line down the whole store. Sometimes difficult to get any questions answered so I end up just continuing to look myself, usually not getting asked if I need help finding something. Seems to be a clean store, lots of traffic.

I was just at one of your locations when I ask to use the restroom upon getting the key I received attitude from one of the employees refusing to help and another manager giving me the key. Going into the back bathroom realizing there is blood on the toilet, no toilet paper, no paper towels and the bathroom has not been cleaned in a while. Considering you sell food products at your locations I'm pretty sure that goes against Health codes. When I came out of the bathroom and tried letting an employee there know. I tried giving her the key, she gave me a dirty look pointed towards the front and told me I could return it to the person up front. When I informed her of the status of the bathroom and that there was blood on the toilet seat she gave me attitude again told me "yeah that's why I don't use public bathrooms" I said yes okay but there's no toilet paper and paper towels and is really dirty. She again went and gave me an exasperated breath, eye roll and just a very blunt uh huh and kept walking away from me as I was trying to talk to her about the bathroom. So realizing she did not have the time of day to deal with a customer I went up front to give someone the key. Upon walking up front there is no one there except for one cashier who is busy so I set the key down at a register. My husband and I continue to walk around and take note of how unorganized this location is, we do reviews for our website and report what we see. That way they do not have high expectation of places like this as I did. When I see the same employee again I let her know there was no one up front to take the key so I left it at one of the registers she gave me one of the nastiest looks anybody has ever given me and loudly exclaims OKAY as the other employee obviously keying her attitude thinking it is funny and laughs. My husband and I obviously can see the condescending tone from her face as well as the attitude she gave me again. I then commented on her attitude towards me telling her that is not how you handle customers and she's being very rude. Both of these women when I stated you don't have good customer service that's probably why you're working at a dollar store. After her multiple yea so what , what did I do? I wasn't being rude.....arguing once more the other employee laughing like a child and again putting her two cents in on this mean girls act of theirs. She then tells me I could kick you out! I can refuse service to you. I said for what for not dealing with your harassment and your rude comments towards a customer. I informed her I'm not going to allow anyone to give me attitude, I'm not going to allow anyone to harass me and I'm not going to allow anyone to treat me that way especially from a woman that has done nothing but continuously harass, degrade and be rude to me especially one that feels the need to belittle her customers that go to her place of employment . She works at a business and she does not get to walk all over people because she's a manager of a dollar store. I did take video record of what was happening because with the way she was getting the other employee getting in my face I did feel threatened and so did my husband. They were being very hostile at this point. When I went back up front to speak to another manager the same woman continue to talk over me and yell at me in front of everyone. When I informed the manager that I was happening she tried to help.I was very upset and honestly hurt that a employee can think she can do things like that to other people. As I tried talking to this manager the other woman that kept calling her away telling her not to help us and then explaining I'm contacting the authorities they need to be escorted off the property which left us not being able to give our name or number or get management information like we were trying to she knew what she was doing she knew that we were putting in a complaint and even bullied this other manager in front of us.

After my past experiences with Dollar Trees I dreaded walking into this one but I sure am glad I did. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted with a genuinely friendly smile. At the checkout(usually the most dreaded part of any shopping extravaganza) it was even better. The cashier was bright and friendly. I'll definitely be coming back soon. However, the selection is a bit lacking(hence the 4 stars)

This is the perfect store for your knick knack needs. I come here to get things like wrapping paper, cheap little toys, pens and cheap batteries. They have a decent selection of name brand items, at a discounted price. Unlike some dollar stores, this one does not have anything for over a dollar. They've got kitchen utensils and plates that I will sometimes come get if I have to go to a bbq in a park and don't care about losing our breaking them. Good place for cheap snacks. The employees seem happy enough and will help you with any question you may have. A lot of seasonal products like back to school, Christmas, Halloween, thanksgiving, ect.

I'm a dollar store junky and often make it my first stop for cards, wrapping paper, stocking stuffers and general purchases. I've been shopping in NC, MD, NY & AZ and probably several other one time visits in different states. Visted this area and stopped in for holiday cards-This is by far the cleanest and neatest dollar store I've ever been it. It was just before Thanksgiving, but shelves were neatly stocked, floors were clean and store was a joy to shop in. Manager was on the floor, which most aren't, and maybe that was the difference. Service was courteous and store was well staffed. I'd give this store a 10!! '
