Herb is an extremely qualified and honest mechanic. Mercedes parts and labor are expensive, but Star Motors is always very reasonable. I've been burned by MB & BMW dealers before, so I'm a big fan of competent independent mechanics!

My wife unfortunately spilling some water on the shifting mechanism in her C230. Had to have it towed home because it wouldn't start. Called and talked to Herb the next morning about having it towed to him for repair. Instead, he told me to pull the trim ring around the shifter and run a hair dryer for an hour or two to see if the water would evaporate. Sure enough, I did as he suggested and after a while the car started right up. The shifter mechanism is something well in excess of $500.00, so that plus labor would have been an expensive repair. Instead it didn't cost us a thing. This was not the first time Herb has offered advice that helped us avoid an expensive repair. When we have needed work done, it has always been on time and fairly priced after he took the time to explain exactly what needed to be done. Needless to day, Herb's continuing honesty and helpfulness have earned my business and I wouldn't consider taking our Mercedes any place else for repairs.
