I am a careless man who lost his passport and need to mail something to the Chinese Embassy. The clerk is a super nice madam and she is so patient. She helped me go through every steps to set up everything correctly. Literally saved my day. 5/5 for sure.

It seems only 1 person can work at a time so while you wait the other employees will stare at you like you have 3 head but not do their job and help

I was expecting a package today as per tracking. I was home all morning with clear view of my front door/mailbox. Status of package changed to say “attempted to deliver but mailbox was inaccessible”. This is 100% false: no attempt was made and the mailbox is completely accessible as it always is. This isn’t the first time this has happened in recent months to myself and others in the neighborhood. If you can’t deliver a package for whatever reason be truthful and state that YOU are delaying the delivery, don’t falsely lay the blame on the customer.

I watched the post person drive by and put a form stating that they attempted to deliver a package but no one was there. So I signed the redelivery form and watched them pass my house again. This time they didn't leave a form. They brought it again to Coventry post office. Without notice, the package is waiting for me there. The form claims an attempt was made. Twice, no attempt at all was made to deliver a small package. Seems like a disingenuous show to me. I do appreciate their service; though, according the wording on their form, they are shirking their responsibility and passing it off.

Incredibly Rude and Patronizing My package which was supposed to be delivered to one of the UCONN mailrooms was shipped back because of “no access to delivery point”. This package is time-sensitive, so I went directly to the post office to see if it was there (as it said it was returned there on the tracking history). The man who greeted me found out I was a student and talked down to me, saying I did not know how the office worked and that they in no way had my package. After showing him the tracking history and asking if he could check, he said no and sent me away. The utter disrespect and inability to even check for the package appalled me, as I have never had an issue like this at my hometown post office.

The carriers are frequently too lazy to come down my driveway. In the summer they just vaguely note the package as “undeliverable”, whatever that means. In the winter they just say my driveway is icy, even when the whole thing is completely clear. They used to deliver the package a day or two late, despite my tracking telling me it was out on the truck for delivery days earlier. Now they just don’t deliver it and make me pick it up. I get to play the game of figuring out if they brought it to the Coventry or Storrs location, since nothing is noted on the tracking number. It’s impossible to speak to a human, all usps stores have the same automated phone number. So I get the pleasure of driving around multiple towns to try to figure out where it is! Nobody at either store is helpful, and they just tell me to call the automated number where the wait times are always over an hour. Even when my carrier actually delivers my packages, she does it horribly. I’ve watched her chuck packages from ten feet away onto my concrete porch, and everything inside was broken, shocker. It was easier to get a refund through the company than it was to even get ahold of someone at usps, despite it obviously being their fault. Also one day she left multiple packages on the hood of my guests brand new car parked in my driveway instead of walking ten more feet to my porch. We even bought a larger mailbox to fit more packages so my lazy driver can just stick them in the box instead of just not delivering them at all. Obviously, things still haven’t changed for the few packages I receive that don’t fit. It’s clear my carrier just doesn’t feel like doing her job, and the usps obviously doesn’t mind. I go out of my way to get things delivered ups instead. I wish I never was forced by companies to receive my packages through usps. Im just not going to buy things from those retailers.

Mailed a “priority” mail package on Friday. I wanted a Saturday delivery. Clerk in Wethersfield post office convinced me that being in-state it would almost certainly be delivered on time. He was nice and trying to save me money. He was partially right. It did arrive in the Storrs post office at 5:24 am on Saturday. Plenty of time to be delivered. Website said it would be delivered Saturday by 8pm. Mansfield Storrs post office couldn’t be bothered delivering this “priority” mail. It will now sit until Monday. Awful. No customer service focus at all. I should have trusted my gut and used FedEx. Will never use the post office again for anything time sensitive.

I would like to give a BIG shout out to an Amazing member of the USPS of Storrs, CT. First off to Kim for putting me in the hands of VAL. Val is GREAT. She is everything that I imagine the USPS would like to be recognized as. Val, THANK YOU so very much for your time, patience, information and your carry through on an important matter. One that you handled for me and assured it would be alright. You are such an Asset to your Company and I truly hope that the USPS recognizes what they have in YOU. I received the item yesterday and immediately tried to leave a review about you but no way to do that on USPS site, so I left some feedback suggesting that they implement the ability to be able to do just that. Hopefully they may listen ?!?! VAL, I'll never be able to Thank You enough. I don't know you or you me but you treated me with such understanding, care and professsionalism. So many others could learn from your example. You made everything OK and that's worth so much more than words but I hope all the Goodness you've put into what you do comes back tenfold and I Believe it will. I can just imagine how much you deal with on any given day but you are the EPITOME of what the USPS should recognize as THE BEST OF THE BEST that represents them. Thank You from the bottom of my heart. Val, be true to who you are cause YOU ARE AMAZING !!!!

A small but efficient post office with a great staff! If you're a UConn student looking for a PO box, this is a great choice: it's within walking distance of campus and the boxes are accessible 24/7. Just note that there are no lock-boxes for overflow mail, so be sure to order a large PO box if you expect to receive packages or lots of mail. (Otherwise, you'll need to stop by during business hours and pick up your packages at the counter.)
