**UPDATE** I received a PROMPT call regarding this situation from Tatiana who runs Garden Music School. She was very quick to apologize for the situation and was happy to refund the charges. As I stated in the first review, Tatiana has been nothing but awesome to work with! I am leaving the initial review of the teacher, but want to let everyone know they are very customer service oriented. Also, be aware that they will charge monthly because it is NOT a monthly service, it is a yearly service that they charge for each month. It is slightly confusing that they advertise as monthly prepaid lessons with no contract. However, benefit of the doubt is I may have misunderstood this. I would recommend Garden Music as long as you speak to/sit in with your student for a lesson or two, to ensure the teacher/student are a good fit for each other. ________ We just moved to Florida and we're looking to pick up drum lessons again after a year long hiatus. We signed up for lessons with Marcus. After the first 30 minute session he spoke to me about my son as if he was a delinquent who wasn't practicing drums and took it as a personal affront to himself. We came back even though my son said he didn't like him (should have known then). After the second 30 minute lesson Marcus came outside and proceeded to yell (and I do mean YELL) at my son and launched into a bitter diatribe about how my son is sour, is undisciplined, unmotivated, not college bound (odd???) and that he was going to drive away the people in his life (what??). I sat in disbelief listening to a 21 year old utterly tear down a 14 year old (with a learning disability) and could not believe he was still employed as I highly doubt this was the first time he has displayed such behavior. My son was in tears the whole way home (40 minute drive). I felt horrible for my son and have never witnessed a teacher behave this way. My son wants to play for enjoyment, not for a career. As a teacher myself I know the key to creating motivation is a mix of encouragement and critique. However, this approach and the personal offense Marcus took to my son (who is still learning) and his music ability was appalling and we will not be returning. I'm sure the owner (who is very kind) and the other teachers are great but I would not recommend this teacher! **UPDATE** I was charged for lessons for another month, which I did not authorize! Despite being told there is no contract and lessons are paid monthly...I was charged for lessons I did not request! Do not give this place your credit card information.

I took my 6 year old inside one day as he loves music and saw the guitar outside. Once in, I was warmly greeted and told about their piano lessons and how things work. I was given a tour (amazing place, 2nd floor practice studios, 1st fl performance and sales space. I signed up immediately and he has been loving lessons. Uncle Steve is the greatest and has patience and is very personable, and always recaps with me at the end of the lesson which I really appreciate. Awesome place PLEASE stop in and check them out. Piano first. Electric guitar next!

This place is a hidden gem, you might think it’s just another after school of music, but is so much more than that, it’s a serious and amazing music conservatory, As a Grammy award winner I strongly recommend this school for serious kids and adults who want to really learn something, get approved in a university or pursue a scholarship.

Skip this business & hire a music teacher directly for lessons/repair. Many can come to your house for lessons for same cost & can do repairs quickly & lower cost. We have been visiting here weekly for a month & really wanted to love this business and give it a chance. At the end of the day, what our family found over the course of a month was music instructors & front desk staff who are great. And unfortunately, management who knows music but have business practices & communication style that are disappointing and likely won't work long term to retain either students or teachers. Booking students back to back with no interim forces teachers to be late or quit early in all their appts. Being rude, defensive & dismissive toward client concerns doesn't serve anyone well & word of mouth in such a small community makes a difference. Best wishes to Garden Music in improving their current managerial challenges, we always want to see our local businesses succeed.

Used to love taking my kids here. We were customers for five years. The place has a true passion for music. However, as others have said, the business operations are unacceptable for us. Their billing execution created much grief for us. In my opinion, they lack the customer service skills to recover from poor business practices. Case in point, I'm a five year customer with no outlet except to leave a review. I thought it was just me until I heard others at the front desk with similar issues and reading reviews here. *I can not recommend Garden Music* at this time which makes me sad because so many people that work there love music.

The teachers have been great and they love what they do. However, in my opinion, the administration of this organization lacks competency in organizational skills and accounting. Based on my personal experience, they also are unwilling to take responsibility for their mistakes and lack professionalism in how they treat people. The breakdown of this has saddened me. Just today, I was there to deal with a problem (bigger one), and they took me to a back office. During this time, a staff member at the front counter was openly discussing my account and my situation with a customer who walked in behind me. I guess they forgot I had family in the adjacent room. This is a breach of trust and definitely reflects my view of their treatment of customers. They love music, but at this time, I cannot recommend the Garden Music School.

This would be a 5 Star review if it weren’t for the following: They have stopped paying their instructors for lessons taught after May 15, 2018. Furthermore , they are requiring all instructors to negotiate any pay at all, without them knowing if they’ll ever receive it! Some of the best instructors and staff have been forced to quit/resign being unable to work without compensation for their labors. Even worse, they’re not keeping the negotiations level. If you agree to less of a deal, not knowing what anyone else agreed to, you will receive less. If you are paying for yourself or your child’s lessons, do you question where your full tuition is going? As you might imagine, the same diversity that exists in society exists in their instructor base. There are some instructors who do not need the income but continue to teach out of love for their craft. However, many equally talented instructors are blue collar working musicians who absolutely need to be paid to provide for their families. Finally, I give 5 stars to all of the instructors and staff whether they have been forced to leave or have stayed, being able to withstand a period labor without pay of unknown duration, ongoing as of the date of this post. All the instructors love their craft and their students! I will be happy to post a second review if this wrongful situation is fixed in a fair way to the instructors and staff. Updated review- To the best of my knowledge, many of the instructors have received their back pay. However, a good percentage are no longer associated with Garden Music. It's a shame.

If I could give this location a 0 I would! This is the worst customer service I have experienced, coming from someone who is in the hospitality industry. If you value great customer service, and locations that value the customer experience, DO NOT give them your money! Find another music store to buy/rent your child's instrument .... because my child is now affected due to this location lack of communication. At the end of the day it's about our/your children.

Always a pleasure going to Garden Music! The staff is so knowledgeable about music and the instruments. I had drumming lessons with Scott for some fun, and had a great time. He's so patient, and passionate which is awesome since I am clueless with instruments. I was helped by Erika, she was helpful, kind, and accommodated to my work schedule. She also reccomended some awesome music to listen to! The new owners are also super helpful, and you can tell they love their jobs! Great place to learn an instrument and get your mind off the daily grind!
