What’s the point of calling yourself 24hr fitness and you’re not even open 24 hrs? Don’t even try to blame Covid , that been over!!

Despite our ( my husband and I ) disappointing experience at Sodo location 5 years ago, we decided to give 24 hour another shot . We went online and and got guest pass not because we were not sure but location is 19 miles away and an hour drive, before we commit we wanted to see if drive is worth it and how much time does it take going back and forth. Anyway, nowhere does it say that if you were a past member that policy is you cannot get in with guest pass , and if that is the policy than system should not allow past members to create guest pass but it did let us. We would not be so disgusted and disappointed if person at the front desk has somewhat manners of a human being . I wonder what is the screening and hiring process for 24 hour fitness? Probably be incredibly rude . He was awful and beyond rude . Again ,not letting us in would not be a huge deal but the way he handled it was awful, I would even dare to say discriminatory . If 24 hour fitness has a policy that former member who want to re join cannot get guests passes then they should think about logistics and that website should not issue guest passes. It’s great to have policies and to follow them but have appropriate system to be able to execute these policies . I will make sure everyone I know knows how awful this place is , so my review will go on Facebook ,Instagram, BBB and 24 Hour Fitness corporate and this location’s Store Manager. Avoid 24 hour fitness by 100 mile radius .

So happy to be a member at this gym! Very spacious with lots of equipment, and the staff is the best I’ve seen. Very personable and kind. I have been doing physical training sessions as well and am excited about the progress they have helped me achieve!

Would be 5 stars until that manager who does not even know her own company's rules are. Came there with a friend using the buddy pass that we pay extra for, and the old lady who is the manager harassed us because he was helping me out, would not stop bothering us saying "HE CANT TRAIN YOU" Which the whole point of the buddy pass is exactly that. She is the worst manager in any gym I have ever been in, the worst customer service, I don't know how she got that manager job when she does not even know what her own company's rules are. The moment she is no longer there I will rejoin the gym and go there again but until that power hungry lady is there that customer service is horrendous.

Bad Business practices. Chris sales person was very rude. I had a membership at the downtown locatioin pre-covid. The downtown gym was shut down and I was charged for 3 months. Said I would never go again but I also became a personal trainer during covid, so I am checking out all gyms. Chris told me he wouldn't accept my pass to try out the gym. He was dismisive and really went out of the way to make me feel unwelcome. This isn't how to make a sell. I am just going to write 24 hour fitness off as a bad company.

If you're looking for a gym to workout in with little to no attention to the gym floor then this is the gym for you. The pros: it has a lot of great workout equipment and the facility has a pool and a basketball court. The cons: the weights are never stacked properly, the benches are missing weights 80% of the time, 90% of the time the cleaning supplies (to wipe down workout equipment ect.) are nonexistent. Personally, I expect a lot more from a "high end" gym.

Update 2/6/2020 today I walked into my favorite workout the cycle room. I encountered two 24 gym staff trainers one local and the other out of town. One was teaching the other how to do a cycle class. I come in and they gave an unfriendly look. The room was obviously open to the Public. I felt some unwelcome I took a chair and pull up a YouTube cycle class so I won't disturb them. I don't care how good of trainer you are, you will never successful if you don't know how to provide basic customer service and make your clients welcome. After, they finished they did not have he audacity to plug the TV back so other people can work out. This place needs some training on how to make people feel welcome. I really have want to like this 24 hours fitness location. However, it seem the virtual classes does not any sounds the volume is off or It is broken. Adjusting the valúen control from the tv does not work. I wish the staff was a little attentive to the equipment. I might have to go the one in east colonial they seem to be on top of their game.

Update: NO MORE DEADLIFTING ALLOWED!!! Corporate came in today and laid down the law. Standard bench bars which have the best grip are no longer allowed to be used for deadlifting. You are no longer allowed to deadlift outside of their warped platforms. You can only deadlift on these platforms with the Eleiko bars which have little to no knurling and these are the same bars the get bent permanently. Also, only the Eleiko bars are allowed in the platform area. You cannot bring your own bar to deadlift (liability). It’s sad to see this gym decline to the depths of Planet Fitness. I had put my confidence in this gym and recommended it to dozens of people since I started here years ago. But now those days are over. This gym is slowing becoming a class and treadmill gym. DO NOT SIGN UP HERE. Save your money and go elsewhere. Retro Fitness, Backbone Barbell, Orlando Barbell, and Crunch Fitness are some far greater alternatives. ——Edit finished—— Since January up to now, Mondays thru Wednesdays of every week are incredibly packed from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Stay away during these times if you hope to have a timely workout. The powerlifting station was designed for 4 people to work there, but that is clearly not enough for a gym that constantly tries to quadruple their clientele. During peak hours, each platform usually has 1-2 people on it now; one person squatting and the other person deadlifting off the back of the platform. (Staff doesn’t like for us to deadlift off the main rubber floor). But on peak hours of Mon-Wed, at least 12 people are trying to use this area at once, which means the bumper plates are completely exhausted. This is because people are getting away with deadlifting outside of the platforms by creating their own lifting area on the side. R.I.P. for the trainers who want their clients to use this area during these hours. 95% of the barbells are taken to the powerlifting stations for squats and deadlifts, leaving the 5 benches on the other side of the gym without more than 2 barbells! This gym needs their corporate offices to buy more barbells, expand the powerlifting area twice over and double up the bumper plate rack. For a lack of space, the TRX ropes cage area should be removed, or 25% of aerobic machines removed for the TRX ropes cage to take that place instead. Whenever I see people lined up at the squat cages at the other side of the gym, even on a Thursday, I ask some of them, “why not go to the powerlifting area?” The answer is always the same, it’s full and unusable. I can’t wrap my head around why half the gym is populated in grossly underused aerobic machines, which is a huge waste of space. This isn’t the 80s and 90s anymore, people love to lift weights, and squatting, deadlifting, clean and jerks, etc. is the foundation of this new age of the gym goer’s population that 24hr Fitness fails to take into consideration. Unfortunately, this is the most equipped 24hr Fitness location in and around Greater Orlando. The Lake Mary, Kirkman, Apopka, Hunter’s Creek, and Downtown locations all have only one or two platforms for squatting/deadlifting/etc. and they reside on the second of their buildings, so absolutely NO deadlifting outside the platforms will ever be tolerated.

Really nice and clean facility although the locker rooms are quite messy paper towels around in the locker room floors near the restrooms and they also have a kids club which I believe is quite awesome I personally have not use that service yet but hopefully one day soon but other than that really nice.
