We travel full time and have been away from the Gulf Coast for awhile and wanted some good seafood. This place seems to get the best reviews, so gave it a try. I gave the shrimp poboy a try while my wife went with the Oyster platter. For a place on north Georgia, we found the food quality and quantity to be excellent. The freshest and best seafood that we have had in quite a while. If we are back in this area, this will be our goto place.

The plain digs belies some of the best seafood I've ever had, even from coastal restaurants. The fried shrimp might be the best I've ever had. Very simple cafe attached to decent fresh seafood market. Don't pass this up! It's easy to miss or dismiss but you will be missing out on a true gem of a hidden treasure.

First time I went in, they didn’t have any oysters. I was also told they don’t serve them on the half shell, like most places, which disappointed me, since the Gainesville Seafood Market does. The second time I went in, they had oysters available but only fried. Their prices are very high, so I didn’t want to get the full platter, so I ordered the oyster plate. It arrived fast and comes with fries, slaw & 2 hush puppies, which were all good. But the 8 oysters were not fresh! I know by the color of the inside and the taste, and these were small and black on the inside, kinda like the smoked canned ones you get for a dollar from China. If they don’t even bother to “shuck” raw oysters for their customers, how am I to believe the fried ones I ordered were actually fresh? The place has a lot of fresh fish to offer and it seems like they know what they’re doing, except for oysters, which are probably fine, when they sell to go, and are probably good, whole/in the shell. But when I want my fried oyster fix, I’ll be going back to Gainesville Seafood Market down the street.

The food is very good. The restaurant/market is very small and is typically crowded. They do not take reservations. The ordering process can be a little confusing if you've never been before since takeout and dine in use the same line. When you first arrive, there will be a line leading up to a counter where you will place your order and be given a number. You will then go through the dining area to a hallway where you will wait for your table to become available. Once you are seated, your food will be brought out to you. They will not take your order or seat you unless your entire party is present. Vegetarian options: No vegetarian options unless you just order sides a la carte. Parking: Parking is shared with other businesses and is very limited Wheelchair accessibility: It is technically wheelchair accessible, but it is a tight fit.

This is one of the best little restaurants. Because it's building it attatched to a laundry mat if you blink you may miss it. But the food is just EXCELLENT. The prices are great and I've never had to long of a wait time even during their busiest hours.

This is my go to seafood restaurant in Gainesville GA. So glad they survived COVID. Been here four or fives times and never have had a bad meal. I will be the first to admit it isn't much to look at due to the decor, very simple but the seafood is awesome. Better then Fish Tails (which is very good in its own right) and blows Red Lobster out of the water.

We have been wanting to check this place out after it was recommended by a friend, let me tell you, it was worth the 2 hour drive! This place has some of the best seafood around that I have found since I moved here from the MS Gulf Coast. The whole experience from start to finish was excellent, the food and service was a 10 out of 10, if you want great seafood, then this is the place! We will be definitely visiting again.

Service was quick enough I couldn't finish a cigarette before my plate showed up. Fries are crisp and tender. Piled up enough to make you proud. Hish puppies are perfect. Couple of corn kernels to let you know they care. Cole slaw is rather bland to my tastes. Could use more color from carrots or red cabbage, more flavor from something that provides it. 5 pieces of a proud sized fried shrimp. OMG they're spectacular. You can two or three bite em and be just as happy with the mouth stuffing one bite. They need no dipping, but I'll do it anyway... Cocktail sauce, and tartar sauce are both bland, but in their defense, they take nothing away from the best fried shrimp I've ever had. I can't fault this meal about that. 5 Fried oysters of a good size, with spice flecks and a sultry smile. It's like biting into a crispy cloud. The crust is complementary, not cumbersome. The oyster is so soft and tender. Absolutely delicious. No dipping here. The flavor is too subtle for even a bland sauce. I can only dream of what these folks can do with a fried chicken liver. I notice there's no wait staff hovering over me, as the bussers are quick to clear tables. These folks know from quality service. Atmosphere is family, quit, and inviting. Ages span the little girl laughing at herself, to the elder couple bragging on their selections. Conclusions? Price: Shrimp & Oyster Dinner, $21, and $1 for my root beer. Great, flavorful value. Food Quality: Awesome for what I came here for, bland on the extras. But as flavorful and filling as the main was, the extras are superfluous. Staff: Attentive, not botheringly obsessed. They must be well aware the food sells itself. Recommendation: Highest. Quality and quantity at this price, in these times, is to be applauded.

The PO boy was big, with a lot of fried shrimps and toasted bread. It was fine, but I got an upset stomach after eat it (maybe the mix between that oil and the cold drink) The seafood plate was good, but no delicious. The onions were not totally cooked, and the grilled oysters were almost raw (at least they were big) I would prefer them in the shell and a little more cooked. For those two things, 2 drinks and 1 coleslaw the total was 50.

Wow, this place is great. Friendly staff and great service. Large shrimp and oysters. Gumbo is delish, you can get your fish fried or grilled. Ceviche is ate an style without avocado. With cilantro onions and tomato with diced shrimp. It’s all good. And not expensive at all. Highly recommend.
