we had a good experience at this dollar. no line and they made the whole process very easy. the office is inside of the Sheraton hotel .

Waited over 2.5 hrs. This is after 1 hr in line. Unacceptable for arrival day. All markets closed. Pay extra for decent service. Not worth it.

Buyer beware - If you book through a third party site like Expedia or others, Terry will get you to change your reservation onsite, which will result in you incorrectly being double charged. Expedia was unable to do anything for me as Dollar refused to recognize the error on their part and Terry at the local branch was useless in assisting. Seems like a scam ring.

There was a long line of people waiting for the shuttle. It took 30 minutes for enough shuttles to come to get us to the rental counter. Then it took over 2 hours to get our rental. There were 2 people checking people in and they got 4 people after an hour but was still slow. The process was terrible compared to Maui and other places I have rented from. This poor process was a large contributor for them being so slow. Don’t use them, pay more if you have to as it will save you a half a day of your vacation and a lot of frustration.

Avoid this place at all cost unless you want to kill 3-4 hours. The lines are long, customer service is terrible and not a single vending machine worked. Not a way to start your vacation. The other nearby rental car companies had no lines.

As someone who rents cars every single month for work at multiple locations and has status, this company and location are genuinely the worst I have come across. The customer service is abysmal. My husband was told he needs a better attitude and he needs to show respect when we called because our car broke down at a hike. We explained we had status and do rentals almost daily and they said “oh nice doesn’t matter.” My husband was of course, agitated the car didn’t work but was no where near nasty. We explained we waited over 3 hours to even get this car and we did tell dollar that it didn’t sound right and they said they had nothing else and this was fine. Clearly it wasn’t. Your hotel probably has rentals and check with them! Our hotel helped us immensely!

Once we got the car everything was fine. But it is super important for people to realize this place closes at 2pm on the dot! We did not make it on time the first day of our trip. We were in our cab from the airport at about 1:50pm, and when we told him where we were headed he said, "You need to call because they are going to close, or I can take you to your rental unit". I called and the staff member that answered said they were unable to stay open for us to arrive past 2pm and that we were basically out of luck. I explained that we were about 15 minutes away. A car rental place that closes before 2pm is very unusual and we had no idea. So we were out of a car for our first day and still had to pay for that day since we booked through KAYAK. I have also reached out to KAYAK so that Dollar and KAYAK can strengthen this part of their communication. So please be aware that this rental place is about 30 minutes from the airport, it isn't that easy to get a taxi, LYFT or UBER from the airport and it closes at 2pm!! Otherwise they are very pleasant, the staff is professional and helpful and our car was perfectly nice!

When we got to Kauai our original rental plan did not work out. We called these guys hoping for some good news. We ended up renting from Hertz at this location. The manager Terri saved the day, week, and our Honeymoon! She picked us up from our hotel and made picking up from this location and dropping off at the airport a breeze! She pulled every string she could pull for us and went an extra 20 miles not just one! Thank you so much for all the hard work you out into our trip!
