6 Best hardware store in Birmingham, Alabama (AL) 2024

Performed preventative maintenance on my old reliable Lawnboy for years - last time it needed a part that they could not get (Lawnboy not being manufactured anymore) so I get it -no prob - picked it up after 5mos and bought a new Honda Self Prop model they recommended- left with my old and new mower. Came back the next day because the new Honda had a wobbly wheel causing an uneven cut. They handed me a new wheel to install myself. One cut and realized it was no better. I measured the deck height as anyone could have done and found it to be 1/4” off L to R. So I returned with mower for same unlevel cut. picked it up as repaired - same problem - returned it and picked it up 9 days later. (rented a mower twice and they loaned me a mower once during repair time) Said they replaced the front wheel axel and I picked it up and cut one time but still same problem. Measured deck height again and found it 1/4” difference L to R. Gave the mower to my son who was just happy to have a new mower. Went to purchase a 2nd mower same model - they offered me $20 off price and with attitude -Disappointing- I left and went to HD and purchased it. They later called to say they would replace it. Too late! This is a story of a severed bus relationship due to poor customer service and attitude. I want to be kind and fair but it was very frustrating. I have found a new service provider should I need one in the future. ~Charles

This store is close to where I live. They have a variety of tools. Today I got a set of drill bits for my hammer drill. Good prices in the whole store,and sometimes they do have special offers 👍 ~Angel

I LOVE this store! I used to live near this store and frequently shopped here for my household needs. The staff was always so friendly and helpful. I moved away a few years ago and haven't been able to find a small town hardware store that compared. I was in the area, so I stopped by on yesterday to pick up some items and felt right back at home. The atmosphere at Ace (Chalkville Mtn) has been consistently welcoming, the staff is always helpful and they seem to make great recommendations for certain products that just meet my needs. I LOVE THIS STORE! ~Marquita

Nice employees very interactive. Found the tire guage I have not been able to find for over a year. This is a picture I painted with acrylic paint on canvas Not Purchased from here but I do have some white outdoor paint I got from here with my boyfriend when they advertised on television giving away paint. I was looking for the picture of the tire pressure tool but could not find it quick enough. My mom and her mother. I changed the color because too much in front of me to go get another sponge brush so this was done using only one and blotting out with a paper towel to start another color I had. Trust me ARUBA IS not in Birmingham,Alabama but my weird lying neighbor had this tent in his yard. I think Ace sells tents. I was traveling to california in 2005 and an Aruba tryna followed me to the next state. And a caravan if trucks with my name Lisa splattered I've the sides. I thought I was being stalked by the man who they thought killed somebody in aruba the next year when flag girl natalie was missing from mountain brook where I lived then moved back for a few months after divorce now called retreat and I was on the high school flag team at a different school. ~LN
