Best animal hospital in Los Angeles, California (CA) 2024

My beloved dog past away in my arms at home and since that was sudden I wasn’t prepared or had done any study on what you can do in those situations. I was told to call our vet, they were closed so i called VCA West LA as I have taken my dog there when he was much younger, so they still had our records. When I called they were super helpful & told me to bring him in and that they have a cremation service that would handle the rest. When I brought the body of my dog they were so sympathetic and kind and made the experience so easy . I am so appreciative of the care of the staff and will wholeheartedly recommend you to use this facility for your loved pets. Thank You for your care. 🙏 ~Sevara

I happened to find this place yesterday when my dog suddenly stopped putting weight on her front paw while we were hiking in Griffith Park, and I'm so glad I did! I'm new to LA so don't have a regular vet set up yet, but I saw this place was nearby and had good reviews, so I decided to give them a call. The receptionist on the phone was so nice, and when I explained what happened to my dog the doctor said they could examine her right away. The entire process was so easy and well-handled from beginning to end. They took her in to get examined as soon as I arrived, and gave me plenty of updates over the phone since I couldn't go inside due to covid regulations. I also really appreciated the doctor's thorough explanation of my dog's injury, and that they didn't try to push any extra or expensive treatments. I left with a happy pup and might end up making this my new go-to vet in LA! ~Lesley

Always the same story, high prices and very little medical treatment, more like: just give her more pills for that. It’s a Dr. Feelgood environment. Dr. Pasternak is a tremendous vet and his wife is lovely. He is one of the best vets out there. He has helped me nurse my FIV cat back to health on more than one occasion. He has much greater knowledge regarding how to do that than the average vet. (He's equipped with several more remedies too.) You're in good hands here. Five stars. Difficult to find a vet of this caliber anywhere. ~Jessica
