At the end of the day if you don't understand the markets in general you'll never leave a pawnshop happy. I got extremely close to the spot price for my gold, of course it'll probably be resold as a ring set. No issues there, they have a storefront, time, and space to deal with selling it. I'm happy to have gotten more than anyone else would give me for the true cost of the gold. I've also sold an air compressor that was valued at around 1000.00 for 350.00 simply because again they have time, space, and customer base. Do you want to deal with 500 idiots on facebook marketplace? Have 100 hours to sell an item for more? need the cash soon? Understand the markets, understand how things work before judging and accusing someone of "low balling" if you can get 30% of the value of any item selling to a pawn shop then they treated you right. Anything more than 30% they are being generous to you, and have a market for your item. If you want more sell it yourself, deal with the headaches. ATM will eat your deposit. They'll give you a provisional credit for a month then demand you pay it back when they all of a sudden couldn't find your cash anymore. Employees at this location will pass all blame to the dispute center, the dispute center will then pass it along to the investigation team and you'll never get any real answers.
