Best grocery store in Portage, Indiana (IN) 2024

Cashier's don't pull my basket away from me while I'm needing to get into my purse to put my wallet away in front of basket. You know who you are so treat your customer like you would want to be treated if you had a purse in your basket! Also, don't place groceries on top of my purse!!!! Blonde older lady cashier at Merrillville store always does this and I quit going through her lane. ~Annette

I loved this Walmart. It was clean and well stocked. Every employee I engaged with was kind and courteous especially Sharron, the Walmart greeter. The entire Portage community seemed that way too. This Walmart is a great example for other Walmarts. Sam Walton would be proud. ~ChinookAdventuresRv

Sad the prices went up. Went for purple acrylic paint. They didn't have it. But of course they had all kinds of cute Easter stuff that filled my cart! All the shoppers were friendly. They had three registers open with 4 ppl in each line. Hobart usually has one register open with 1000 people in line. Good job Portage! ~jaime
