Avenue Restaurant

Good food, but small portions for the price. As others have mentioned, the inside is very loud. Not sure what can be done about that. Due to the noise inside, we elected to eat outside. To our surprise, their outside seating is wood picnic tables. As we all know, those are awful and so uncomfortable. Strange to have such a nice presentation inside, but camp outside. For the price, I don't want to eat on picnic tables with no back. ~Lauren

West Street Veterinary Clinic

We feel very lucky to have access to such a caring, independently owned veterinary clinic. Appreciate the excellent, kind care during visits, and love that doctors and technicians always call to check-in. The reception staff is also wonderful and I feel like we are never out of the loop in terms of making sure that we are up-to-date with appointments. ~Jessica

Starbucks

I can’t say enough good things about this shop. I’m a regular customer on my way into work every morning. The staff is super friendly & knows me. But what really won me over was when my son had an accident on his bike. He went in to the bathroom to wash his arm off. The manager saw him injured & got his first aide kit out & bandages his arm up. This was so kind & such a hometown feel, even though it’s a chain. ~Jennifer

Shaw's

Loved this place. it was clean; wide display of items and has friendly staff. I never for got the day I talked to a lady in the shop around 2003? about the pretty flowers she was buying. I left the shop with my food. As i was getting in the car she came up to me and gave me the flowers. She said to me you should have these. Well i got home and the phone rang. My mom called from over seas telling me my favourite aunt had died finually of cancer. I had always picked wild flowers on a country road as a wee girl when visiting her. ~wanda

Park Street Books & Toys

Love this independent kids bookstore! My kids love painting pottery there too, it can be pricey but depends on the piece. Lots of excellent items for gifts and toys to supplement the great book selection. The second floor, with mostly used books, is amazing (and includes an adult section). We spend ages there stocking up on all our favorites. Everyone who works there is so nice. You have to go! ~Mary
