Best car rental agency in Wilmington, North Carolina (NC) 2024

Staff was professional and friendly. Had some questions about the billing and was concerned (because of the way I booked online it didn’t seem to match what I saw when I checked the vehicle back in). However, the staff person I called was helpful and contacted management who called me back right away and explained in detail what I was seeing on my receipt. Only thing I can think they could do better is to make sure customers know when to return a vehicle because if a person books online, the return time on the online agreement can reflect differently. All in all - great experience! ~D

I travel to Wilmington frequently to see friends and family and love how easy the airport is. The National Car counter is by far the most fun group. They’re always smiling and have me laughing when I walk away. Deb is my absolute favorite and she’s been there for years so I’m always excited to see her smile when I walk up to the counter. The other rental counters are just “eyes down, be polite, get the job done” and that’s okay but I love the team at national because they make it fun and always remember their regulars. Also, their cars are always super clean and new. Definitely rent here! ~M.

I don't want to give them even one star. Worst rental experience ever. I still have the vehicle but felt that I had to post a review now. They did not have my vehicle when I showed up, and the woman behind the counter was extremely unhelpful. When I asked about substituting a vehicle since they did not have my minivan, she claimed they did not have an SUV, but after I called customer care, an SUV magically materialized. It was dirty, and she could not even tell me how long it would take to clean it, nor did she tell me what space the vehicle was parked in, claiming she didn't know where it was, so I had to look for the tag number. Just ridiculous. I will never, ever, rent from this location again. Their customer service skills are non-existent. ~Dominque
