I travel to Wilmington frequently to see friends and family and love how easy the airport is. The National Car counter is by far the most fun group. They’re always smiling and have me laughing when I walk away. Deb is my absolute favorite and she’s been there for years so I’m always excited to see her smile when I walk up to the counter. The other rental counters are just “eyes down, be polite, get the job done” and that’s okay but I love the team at national because they make it fun and always remember their regulars. Also, their cars are always super clean and new. Definitely rent here!

They now require $400 deposit even while being an emerald club member, never have I had to pay a deposit before. They change their stipulations and don’t even mention it on their website extremely unsatisfied with the service! I become a emerald club member because I didn’t have to pay a deposit never again. This is not professional at all. They didn’t even let anyone know they changed their standards. The manger NICOLE said it shows on the app that they now require a deposit and that is a LIE is says nothing about a deposit

My team and I have been renting cars at this location for multiple weeks. This location has by far been the best in customer service, quality of vehicles and overall customer satisfaction. The National team has gone above and beyond each week when renting and returning cars which will result in me using National as I head to other airports. I would highly recommend using National when ever choosing a rental car company in Wilmington NC. Great people and quality - I could not ask for any better service. I will miss them!

I rent from National on a monthly basis and return my rental every 28 days then get another. I recently starting doing my rentals through Wilmington International Airport and it has not been a good experience at all. I rent so much that I am an Executive Elite member which you would think get you some type of perk or upgraded service but it hasn’t. I am supposed to get my pick from the reserved cars in emerald aisle parking spots but the last two months when I go to return my car I have been told that there are no emerald aisle vehicles available Even though I had a reservation booked 4-5 days in advance for a Premium car. The attendant told me that I should come back the next day and hopefully there will be one. This is not at all convenient for me since I live about 80 miles away from this airport. I did that and the same thing happens. I come back a third day and the same thing. On the fourth day I was finally able to get a vehicle. The car I got was a jaguar that had two leaking tires which I had to put air in three times in 5 days. I then had to go through the process again to get it switch out because of this issue. My experiences have made it clear to me that these reps at the airport don’t really like people who do monthly rentals so they don’t offer me any nicer vehicles at all even though I reserve them or they just tell me they don’t have any available and that all the cars I see in parking lot are already reserved. It is the exact opposite of how you think they would treat someone who is giving them more business than anyone else by renting a vehicle for basically everyday of the year.

I love national rental car at the ILM location! Always great selection of cars with great customer service. The representative there at the counter Greg always takes care of me. Being Executive elite it’s quick and easy at this location. Five stars! I highly recommend!

We rented a car at the Wilmington Beach, NC airport. It's a smaller airport (which we love) and so the car rental area is smaller. It's REALLY close to the terminal (2 minute walk). The attendant in the airport was pleasant, efficient and fast. This is quickly moving to the top of our list of favorite airports and car rental services. And we already love National!

Very unprofessional with my last two calls. I rented a convertible and the rep seem very nonchalant on whether I will have a convertible or not on 10/23. It took forever to get someone to answer the phone and there is still no guarantee that I will get a convertible even though it was available on the website. It would be nice to get friendlier staff and a courtesy call or an email to make customers aware of any change in status. Instead, the rep told me to call back when I am already very busy at work and again no one has answered the phone when I called back. Now I have to wait until 8 am, which is the day of my reservation to fully know whether or not I will have a convertible ready when I could have booked with someone else for a trip that I have looked forward to for months already. I am 100% annoyed. Will change my review only if I get my correct reservation with a convertible tomorrow. Update: There is no convertible when I called this morning, my pick-up was at 8 am. I am beyond aggravated and frustrated to the max. Like why was the convertible on your website if not available or why not alert me sooner. I have called daily including last night and no one answers the phone when they said close at 9 pm. I have waited months for this trip and I was supposed to get on the road at 10 Am. Now I have to start over somewhere else at the last minute. I am never booking with this company again. Stay far away! Very unprofessional and they don’t care about customer satisfaction.

National Car Rental saved the day for me! My flight back home was severely delayed; I needed to be in another city for a wedding that afternoon and my plane wasn't leaving anytime soon. It was going to be faster for me to get a car and drive back. I cancelled my flight and walked out to the rental car area. National Car Rental was the only one open at 7:30 on a Saturday morning. Blake provided phenomenal customer service and had me on the road in a matter of minutes. He gave me a great deal and saved my plans. I made it back home before my plane ever left Wilmington and to the wedding on time. None of this would have happened without Blake and National Car Rental!

I'm really disappointed in that I loose free rentals if I don't use them in a set period of time. I have lost so many free rentals because they "expired."
