Food Lion is also owned by the same company as Giant, which is at the top of the hill. The staff is courteous and professional. Some things are more expensive here than they are at Giant and vice versa. I'll leave it up to you to decide which. ~Mr

I can't believe I went into the Fifth Street Food Lion a couple days ago and they were allowing a lady to have a pitbull walk around in their store no leash no nothing like it was a dog shed and then this same woman it allowed to bring another time the week before was allowed to walk around the store with a small short hair Chihuahua around the store I didn't know that Food Lion allows animals to just walk around no leash no nothing especially pitbulls and short haired Chihuahuas who have hair that go everywhere and shed horribly are y'all going to let the dogs that walk around your store like it's nothing like I'm at PetSmart instead of Food Lion maybe it's management end up doing something instead of staying in the back it seems like all the time cuz you can never find a manager so I tried to find one stood at customer service for almost 10 minutes not a single manager and the employee at the desk told me they didn't know where they were if management actually had a spine and did their job maybe they would tell this lady stop bringing a Chihuahua and a pitbull and a store with food in it with no leash and you know they're not assistance animals because there's no vast there's no collar and there's no tags showing they are ~jesse

SHARON & RALPH have been the workers in the store for these less than pleasant recent visits. Due to my schedule, I happen to have recently visited the store within the last 30 minutes of store operating hours to purchase lights for my home. The store has been closing at 6:00 PM recently. Upon entering the store Sharon has looked at me and without giving any greeting has said to me: "STORE IS CLOSING AT 6" ... exuding negative energy and causing me to feel very uncomfortable getting items that I needed before going home. Ralph, while standing at the cash register would project his voice at those who entered the store and state, "STORE IS CLOSING AT 6" -with no greeting and also with very negative energy. I think this is worth noting in this review for the store owner to know about because the store is OPEN until 6 and staff should not subject paying customers to such rude, negative, and unwelcoming energy and body language for entering the store during the time the store IS IN FACT OPEN. I do have compassion for the staff because we are all facing a very challenging time in society. The whole world is short staffed and they have the strength and dedication to show up. I commend them for their resilience. However, I do not want them to treat me with less than decency for arriving to the store to spend money for needed items. ~Joshua
