Sam's Club has a great selection of clothes, housewares including furniture and mattresses, tires (what they don't have you can order), food including snacks, wine and garden/lawn supplies. Their prices are good and typically better than you can find elsewhere. Usually a family of at least 2 can save enough to pay for the membership. ~Donald

I frequently shop at Target and have found it very useful for stocking up on household/cleaning supplies and kitchen supplies -e.g. paper towels, Swiffer dusters, laundry detergent, candles, wax melts, storage containers, etc. I recommend getting a Target account online so you can keep track of your previous orders and your favorites. I often use their "pick up" option, because if you make an order online with items that are in stock at the Charlottesville store, they will have it available within 2 hours. Tip: use the Target app so you can show your pickup barcode when you get to the customer counter. You can also opt to "drive up" and have the staff put your items in your trunk. For now, this is free, and I hope it stays this way! It is very convenient. My only main complaint & reason for not using Target for everything is that their fresh produce section is basically non-existent, and every time I try to buy food, I have to check the expiration dates for every individual item. I have OFTEN found expired food on the shelves. You have to be vigilant about this! I have seen dairy products on the shelves that are over a few weeks past expiration date. If you want any fresh produce, fruits/veggies, or good, fresh baked bread, I would recommend Harris Teeter instead. ~Margaret
