6 Best grocery store in Richmond, Virginia (VA) 2024

It's clean and well organized, staff is friendly, and who doesn't love a Dollar tree store? There's parking as well and it's centrally located. I go there all the time. ~Kimberly

I love Dollar tree. I can go in there and get anything for a buck 25 and that to me is great because I'm on a fixed income. Some products of course I would not buy but that's okay. Always get great customer service so I just want to thank you for that. I'll always go back to Dollar tree. Thanks for the great experience ~Tracey

My primary Kroger used to be the VCU Kroger at Lombardy. I really didn’t think it was possible, but this Kroger is hands down even worse. Shelves are bare (I’m guessing due to lack of employees to stock vs lack of product ), customer service is terrible (expect for the nice older lady at the shelf checkout), and the check out lines are needlessly long. Even the shelf check out lane consistently leads 1/2 way down another aisle. I should have made this review much earlier but I had hope I just picked the wrong days to shop. Nope - I was wrong. This Kroger is terrible. Enjoy bad selection, bad service, and long check out lines. I swear it feels like this store only has 5 total employees. Edit 11/8: another day, another long self check line. Edit 11/9: Thought going before 5pm would beat the after work surge crowd. Nope, 2 registers open and yet again the shelf checkout line half way down the store. Edit 11/22: Two visits in a row where it’s been a good experience. No shelf check out line this evening - Three Stars! ~Ciaran

Kroger's customer service is absolutely the worst I've ever experienced. The stores cleanliness looked a nasty dirty trashed nightclub at closing time. The floors looked like they hadn't been mopped in 2 months and there is trash all over the place. The welcoming clerk didn't even respond with a smile let alone a hello back when I said good evening. And at the end of this horrible shopping experience I didn't even wind up buying anything because they would not honor their posted prices without downloading an app and scanning all my items into the app. If I wanted to use an app I would shop online and pick it up curbside but apparently Kroger is trying to force all it's customers to shop through an app nowadays instead of continuing the personal touch of in store shopping. I will never shop at another Kroger again unless they go back to their original way of actual in person shopping. ~sherise

This store ain't that good. Sure, you can get basically everything you need food-wise. Double check the exp. date, especially for your produce. Date is 6/28/2022 and they still have produce on the shelves dated for 6/21/2022. They are going to make people very sick or kill someone with tainted products like that. ~Karl

Enjoy shopping at this store. Clean. Well stocked. Variety of services. Employees are courteous and personable. I can't say enough great things about the incredible customer service that's given to ALL customers! Hats off to Chris for exceptional service! I highly recommend this store. NO LOITERING IS A BIG BONUS!!! ~C
