This place is awful. I don’t understand how a post office can work like this.
First of all, every time you go in the people behind the counter are extremely rude. There is one older guy who has been nice and helpful, but others act like you are inconveniencing them when you go to pick up a package.
The biggest issue though is our mail carrier. When we moved into our house we didn’t have a mailbox. After talking to some people at the post office, I was told I could put a mailbox in a row where other mailboxes were. I was told it had to be the same height and distance from the street as the other mailboxes, but putting it in between or at the end of the row was fine. $200 and lots of work later, we managed to get it put up and followed all directions we were given. It’s been weeks and we’ve only received our mail twice. Come to find out the mail carrier doesn’t like where we put our mailbox, even though it’s in the row and we followed all directions we were given. They are now saying they want our box in between a specific other box, not at the end of the row.
I am absolutely upset. It’s shocking to me that one person (the mail carrier) has the power to refuse to give us our mail simply because the box isn’t where she wants it. Why didn’t they give more specific instructions to begin with? Now we have to find time and money to move our box and put a new one? We have put in a formal complaint and hope to speak with someone higher up on the usps ladder soon. ~Amy
