Thank you to Paul and his team for being professional, thorough, and transparent. They did great work diagnosing an issue that I had poor luck with elsewhere and were able to fix it for a reasonable price with fast turnaround. Paul took the time to explain the tests that they ran during the diagnosis and how they identified the failing part. He also informed me about a part that’s showing wear and what to look out for if it starts failing (but that it doesn’t have to be replaced now). Highly recommend.

Honest, fair and explained my options. This was his first look at my vehicle and he provided a very thorough diagnostic evaluation complete with pictures and recommendations. He explained what was a “must do now for safety reasons” and what “will need service soon, but not now.” He took the time to help me make an informed decision, which I really appreciated. I’ve been going to Ed Murphy’s in Cockeysville for the last 8 years, so I was sad to hear of his retirement, but he sold his business to another fair, honest mechanic. Let me reiterate the word, honest. Paul is a good guy just from the limited experience I have dealing with him, but if his mechanics are anything like Joy, his office manager, the business is in good hands.

Ed was easy to work with and honest. When he encountered a problem (a bolt sheared off.. it happens) he notified me right away and gave me several paths forward. He was able to diagnose my problems (2 of them) quickly and fixed them effectively. His rates are reasonable, he's quick, and he's accommodating.

I have never had a bad experience with Ed Murphy Auto Service, both Ed and his employee Ned are always extremely polite and helpful, both in person and on the phone. Ed has been working on my cars for almost 10 years and I wouldn't trust another mechanic with them- he never performs maintenance I don't need, but always keeps me safe on the road. He even offered help when I was buying a new (used) car on which models are the easiest to maintain! I live over an hour away and still bring my car to Ed Murphy Auto because it is definitely worth it.
