I’ve been going to this location for the last 3 years 5-7 days a week (and on/off before that during college when I wasn’t at the Towson location or Pasadena location). Overall, it’s very clean and people are respectful. Disclaimer, I’ve never done a training program through their location. One of the reasons I like this location more than others is that generally people put everything back where it belongs. It’s not a mess and disorganized. 9/10 times all of the machines work and if they don’t, they’re generally fixed pretty quick. With Covid, there have been delays in getting people to come and make repairs as a whole across the country. That’s not the gym or management’s fault. There’s always spray bottles and paper towels to wipe down machines. The cleaning staff are always seen wiping down machines when not in use or cleaning the bathrooms. The gym equipment is pretty basic, so if you’re looking for something intense with platforms for deadlifting, etc., you might wanna look elsewhere. Personally, I like the style of equipment and the softer coated weights because I’m prone to injuring and bruising myself. Some people may prefer other types of weights. Free weight section is good, not crazy vast or anything. I do wish there were 17.5 lb dumbbells like they have at Towson. But, the best part about this location is the people - both the people who work there and the people who regularly frequent the gym. It is literally the highlight of my day most days walking into the building. The staff who manage the front desk are always friendly and chat with me. Some of the trainers I’ve met, but don’t train with, always smile and wave and say hello. I have to shout out their sales guys, Anthony, who is the bomb!! I signed up long before he started here so I didn’t sign up through him, BUT, he always hypes me up and is a really kind and positive person. I’ve made some best friends through this gym. Overall, I value the respectful and uplifting environment. I go in the evenings and it’s generally some younger people mixed in with middle age to older folks, which I appreciate. Before I went frequently I had gym intimidation, but the setting of this LA and support from the people here made it less scary over time. I’d definitely recommend this gym if you aren’t a “gym person” and want a good starting place. While it’s not perfect, and I doubt there really ever is a perfect gym, the vibes are good. Well, except maybe for the DJ some nights. It’s a little random and too loud but I can live 😂

Anthony, the current manager, has definitely worked at keeping the place cleaner and more welcoming than what I remember from some years ago when I previously had a membership. The equipment is kept in good working condition and the pool is great!

3/4 stair masters down again. This has been going on for about a year. 1 of 2 working rowing machines…. This is my favorite gym, location is great, staff are great, pretty clean but the equipment is always down. Really puts barriers in the way of planned work outs… Do better LA fitness

I seem to recall that LA Fitness was really an adult’s workout environment but this one is plagued by young high schoolers who aimlessly crowd and linger on equipment. The pool and equipment rotate through an up and down rotation half working and half not. They’ve also decided that the pool is now a swim lessons and swim team training area during peak lap swimming time- the very thing I’ve avoided other gyms in the area for. If you’re looking for a mediocre gym with an abundance of basics this is it, but if you’re looking for high quality well maintained equipment and with adults I’d recommend exploring elsewhere.

I went in on a Guest Pass my first visit and I joined the very same day. Beautiful club. Super friendly staff. Very welcoming environment. Keith is absolutely the best. Gave me a guided tour and shared his knowledge with me. Keith is a wonderful asset to LA Fitness. Go to their website download a guest pass and take the tour. Make sure to ask for Keith. This club has all the "bells and whistles ". Weights - free weights & machines; Cardio - treadmills, elliptical, stairclimbers, stationary bikes; racquetball; classes; personal training; Jr. Olympic size pool; locker rooms; sauna, etc..... Bottom line they make you feel like one of the family. When they say "Welcome to the family ". You know they mean it.

Pretty decent for a gym. People complain about old machines but most machines undergo regular maintenance with the exception of one standalone cable machine that hasnt been fixed in ages. Staff for the most part are way better than other LA Fitness locations (looking at you Laurel) and you will see janitors cleaning regularly. The biggest problem is they have a huge peak hour and things get suoer packed, which is when things get messed up because of lazy people leaving weights everywhere and not cleaning up after their nasty selves but then it pretty much goes back to normal like any other gym. Someone complained about trainers but from what ive seen the trainers know their stuff and work really hard for their clients…just because they don’t have super hero bodies doesn’t automatically make them unqualified to teach proper exercise movements. If you have weight issues maybe consult a qualified dietician/nutritionist instead of expecting every trainer to be the epitomy of unrealistic modern aesthetics.

Solid gym with good staff but the equipment is not the best. The cables don’t have many attachments and the dumbbell rack is missing dumbbells. Also the dumbbells are hard to get since it seems there is only one set of each weight. The machines have rust and are old. The location is great though if you live buy Waugh Chapel.

Overall gym is nice you get a lot for your money. However, DO NOT Sign up with the personal trainers. I was seeing one of their trainers for 6 months, only for him to quit on me and not even inform me he was quitting. Nobody contacted me too inform me I had too call them too ask what happen too my trainer? Only for them too tell me he quit and they put me with another trainer without even asking me. And when we spoke too I guess the manager, he was very rude and very harsh. Telling me I can't quit because I still have a contract for the personal trainer very un professional just hoping my new trainer is better then the last very poor staff

Anthony was the rep who helped me. I ended up not signing up with this gym as it didn’t have every thing I needed but the facility overall is decent. Spaced out machines, not too crowded. If you are more of a weightlifter, you might prefer somewhere else. No rogue plates for easier loading, no hex bar, and the stoppers on the smith are placed too high limiting some of the things you can do on it…. But overall I’m sure the average gym goer would be happy…and Anthony was very nice and helpful in cancelling my membership.
