Had to wait 30 min at checkout because the only cashier decided to leave the cash register to help a customer select a dog food. Finally 2 other employees showed up to checkout customers waiting in line. Very poorly run store.

This is an excellent Petco. Store is big and clean with a very good variety of choices in almost everything. Tons of easy parking. I have also been to 2 vaccination clinics here in the last 4 weeks, my girl needed a booster for one of her vaccines the 2nd time. Both times it couldn't have gone any smoother. They send you a reminder text just before your appointment. They ask you to wait in your car and send another text when they are ready to see you. My dog is reactive to other dogs and they were great about that and asked any other customers with dogs to step aside for me, and put us in one of the empty aisles where it wouldn't be a problem. Both visits with the veterinarian and assistant were really wonderful and they couldn't have been sweeter and were very patient & loving with my dog who shakes & trembles terribly from fear when we see any vet. She has a regular vet, but the vaccinations are so much cheaper here than going to her regular vet and paying for an exam fee as well. She also got a Lyme vaccine ( horrible disease from tic bites) that they now offer here. She needed a booster 3 weeks later since it was her first Lyme vaccine. Now she can get one every year. As a former vet tech and dog groomer I highly recommend using this store if you need reasonably priced vaccines for your dog or cat. Great job Gloucester Petco!

The pups love this place. They always pick out their own snack. I can never find matching coats, shirts etc. Cause my kids are all diffent sizes

Corporate does not care about their employees. As a former employee, I can attest to the fact that higher management only cares about the money going into their paychecks. Despite staffs attempts to reason with them while keeping the store afloat along with caring for the animals, we were screwed over time and time again. The amount of coworkers I saw have full breakdowns after working 10 days straight of 9+ hour shifts whether by themselves or with one other person is sickening. Staff was essentially expected to disregard animal care in favor of stocking shelves, juggling tasks that were not even in our job description or original training.

You would think the one petco on the cape would update their early closing store hours online rather than tape a sign on their door with the wrong date… but if you’re looking for that level of service this is the place!

Love their clinic for vaccinations. You can make appointments, they are friendly and you get test results on the spot.

Abby is one of the best groomers there! I highly recommend her if you are looking to have your dog groomed. She cares for the animals and goes above and beyond!!
