Living just a few blocks down the road from Durst for the last year or so has been amazing. It's an awesome place for any tool or part you'll ever need. Plus they're dog-friendly, so my basset-hound mutt was on a first name basis with half the staff! I'm moving out of Berkley now, and I'll miss having such a great hardware store so close by. I'll be sure to stop in whenever I'm in town!

Knowledgeable staff, good quality lumber and no long lines, what more can you ask for from a hardware store/lumber yard. Almost forgot make sure to go inside and get a complimentary bag of popcorn while you browse.

Pretty good experience, the cashier was pretty helpful. She did a good explaining membership benefits and walked me through signing up for a rewards card.

Absolutely incredible service they have everything you need at a fair price. They even have pulleys for belts. All the random little knick knacks that you would need with your build-it projects. Every single staff member knows exactly what they have hope you find it. Jerry Durst still working the store and rocket like a boss answering questions. Glad that they were around when we were building Oak Park Social.

Worst service I’ve ever experienced. Every single employee was extremely rude & unhelpful. Nobody wanted to help. Everyone told me something differently & was very useless. Also, I was told to send a picture of the item I needed since my first order didn’t come with an invoice, & she told me she would get back to me that same day. I gave her measurements over the phone & she never emailed back. Clearly these people like to argue back & continue to be rude to their customers.

This time around, I needed a specialty nylon shoulder washer and a few feet of 1/2" x 3/4" parting stock, and they had it (along with some free popcorn).

Berkeley's OG Hardware store. They've got just about everything, and if they don't stock what you need, they'll refer you to the proper place. There's an enormous stuffed polar bear in the front doorway, and a most excellent popcorn maker in the back.

Truly lives up to the "Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folks". The other day I walked in and was immediately greeted at the door asking if I needed help. The part I needed wasn't sold separately, but he took it in the back to see if he could fix it for me! Works like a charm now! Thank you Durst Lumber!
