Great food and service! I will return! Everything was good, appetizers: crab cakes, truffle fries, beef tips. Main course: char grilled filet. Dessert: passion fruit sorbet. Food : 5/5 | Service : 5/5 | Atmosphere : 5/5 … More

Nice environment before a game. Friendly staff. Was told no openings but when we arrived it was empty. Weird. Regardless we will be back.

My update per Google... Summertime means sad times as no Lunch, only Dinner. Lunch is currently buffet, but a very high class buffet. The menu changes daily and is very good. Lots of variety and flavor. Price is extremely affordable. Especially for MSU students and staff. Features: They have always followed the CDC and the University's guidelines.

Their Valentines dinner was amazing and the optional wine pairings were perfect. The staff were attentive and friendly. It was a beautiful and thoroughly enjoyable date night for my me and my husband. Dine in: Yes … More

Thursday night is 1/2 off wine night. They have the largest wine menu in Michigan. Get an Uber or room and order 2 bottles. The food is good too. But the wine is worth the drive.

A group of 6 of us had dinner. Reservation was easy. Waitress was a true joy. Great personality and fun. Very thoughtful and she paid attention to details. Food was very good. I had a large Caesar salad with salmon. Full of flavor! Three of the people got the filet. Looked very good. I also got the potato and corn chowder. Excellent! Will definitely go back!

My date and I experienced the State Rooms sunday brunch buffet this weekend, it was fantastic, the salmon with chardonnay sauce was my favourite. Our waiter was excellent along with our host. I would recommend making a reservation and to note that one can reserve a more private dinning room similar to a conference room. They served Paramount brand coffee, we purchased a pound of from the restaurant before we left. I recommend the State room for a more upscale brunch option.

Service at the State Room is friendly and attentive. Food is excellent, creative, ever changing, and delicious! The wine list may be the most extensive in the area and is about the length of a book. They also carry some pretty good craft beers on draught and occasionally get special releases. Marianne is their special events coordinator and she really has things figured out. The State Room offers a wide variety of events and includes something for everyone. Some of the events: Mother's or Father's Day brunches, wine tastings, a grill and brew event, and even an American Girl Tea Party. Two of my favorite events are 1) Thursday's Dine Under the Stars, which is held outside on the patio during the summer months and features live jazz and half off bottles of wine, and 2) the Uncorked Scotch Tasting series hosted by the knowledgeable Glynn Gutzeit. Glynn can enthusiastically tell you anything you'd ever want to know about Scotch, Bourbon, or any other kind of whiskey. Fun fun fun! Lastly, but certainly not leastly, the State Room will validate your parking. This is a rare and special bonus when you understand parking in East Lansing.

Came here because of a Groupon deal. Otherwise, I think the food is a bit overpriced. Service is not the best because college-kids-don't-care theory in action again--probably why they're not doing so great and promoting on Groupon. 1. Asked for a secluded area, and was seated in the most visible table. 2. The waitress never came to tell us she was leaving and the new waiter had to introduce himself to us, awkward...

This review covers four meals over the course of a three day stay at the Kellogg Center. Meal One was the best of the bunch. Kristen W was our server. She couldn't have been better. She was friendly and attentive to all of our needs. I had the small Bistro salad. It was fresh and tasty. Among the best I have had. I followed that with the Smoked Turkey and Lentil Soup. Though just the slightest bit salty it was very tasty soup. My entree was the special of the day; Adobo rubbed pork loin. It did not disappoint. Followed that with some MSU Dairy Chocolate Ice Cream to end a satisfying meal. Day 2 lunch was a bit underwhelming. Due to a conference at the hotel the restaurant was busy. Ordered crispy chicken sandwich and fries. Everything took way longer than it should and the food was on the overcooked side. Somewhat dry. Took a long time to get check and even longer to get change. Day 2 dinner. Darrel M was our server. Again I had the small Bistro salad. Again it was excellent. Followed that up with a bowl of Smoked Turkey and Lentil soup. The portion was very small for a Bowl. It was not filled sufficiently but was still tasty. Had the New York Strip for entree and it was cooked as ordered and well seasoned. Day 3 Lunch. Conference still going on. Staff still overwhelmed by the number of diners. Ordered something simple, a burger and fries. Burger was ordered Medium. It was dry and somewhat tasteless. Learned a lesson from previous lunch and requested check at time of food delivery. Still took just over an hour from start to finish. Restaurant knows when conference is at hotel. I think they could do a little better job staffing appropriately so the dining experience at lunch time was better. If I could give two separate reviews it would be four stars for dinners and Two stars for lunch. Thus the three star review.
