A great experience enjoying the original style drive up A & W Restaurant. Great service and food. Picnic tables available if you want to get out of your car. Otherwise, you can order and have the food delivered to your car and then picked up when you're ready to go.

Service took longer than expected, and pop was leaking - server even said it was leaking and just said to "be careful", whereas most places would bring a replacement.... and given this is a place where we eat in our own cars, I would have appreciated that much more. Positives - prices and food are good!

I had the pork tenderloin sandwich and it came out wet bun and cold. Also an order of onion rings and got 5 rings for $2.99. My husband's fries were cold and hard. Extremely disappointed. This was a Father's Day visit. Thought we would try again since our last visit was cold hamburgers and fries. I know they have new owners.

I stop here every trip to Rochester or the Twin Cities. It's an old school A&W drive in like the kind my grandparents used to take me to, but without the roller skates. A Papa Burger and some root beer hits the spot when you are on the road. Best of all, you can order from your car with no drive thru anxiety!

They certainly work harder than other fast food locations and that should be noted. At the same time it doesn't feel like fast food as a simple order of a gallon of root beer to go can take 30 minutes to receive. Eating at other A&W locations I have to mention it certainly seems the amount of salt used is excessive, I have literally tossed my burger on more than one occasion due to it's similarity to a salt lick and I'm not the only one in my party who has experienced this. The service while great is slow and the food while good all seems salt cured. A mushroom Swiss burger really shouldn't be that salty. I'll certainly eat here again the root beer is awesome and a summer day at a table on the lawn with a frosty mug is a good time, I'd recommend asking for no salt.

Friendly people. Took the order perfectly. Delicious hot dogs with coleslaw exactly as we ordered. Very good root beer floats. Rapid service. We enjoyed our visit very much to celebrate a birthday! Drove from Rochester Minnesota just for this lovely place. Because of the cold weather the car hops were not working but they took our order and brought it out to the car.

7 of us met for birthday dinner. big order made from the outdoor dining area. food was great. was hot and fresh. some of the order wasn't correct and we had to ask for straws, napkins and ketchup and dipping sauce but other than that we were happy with having a place we could all meet at and have a meal together. Everyone was full and happy. Always a treat to eat at the root beer stand!
