I'm editing an old review as I couldn't find a way to create a new one. I'm eager to do this because I am very disappointed in how the closing sale event was handled. By 9:35 when I got there, about 20 people were in line. By 10:00 the line was down the block to the next street! Okay, exciting event, right!? Well at the door two people at a small table are very, very slowing writing out forms with people's names. Email addresses. They didn't appear prepared to even do this. Then assigning "points" for various reasons. I thought the points would be for additional discounts. Nope! They are points so you can win one of 10 not all that interesting prizes. To make it worse, the points can be added to by simply going back to the store as much as you can with as many people as you can. So someone who works all day can't take advantage of this, as a person who has that time. I appreciate needing to control how many people should be in the building at one time. But this odd scheme did not fit with what should have been happening. It seems to be from some other company. Making it very suspect. Once inside I found it a bit disappointing to see only 10 or 20 percent off most items. After waiting 15 minutes to get in, as the 20th or so person, and a half hour looking around, I left with nothing. It was an unfortunate disappointing last way to experience this store that I enjoy so much. I feel bad for the people who were still outside after an hour, for nothing.

My 12 year old became interested lately in stating a Punk Rock Band and asked for a microphone and PA system for his Birthday. I stopped by and DJ DePasquale was busy stringing a mandolin I believe when I entered and dropped what je was doing to assist me with this. He took a bunch of time hooking up equipment to sample it for what I was looking for and I went home very happy with what he came up with for my Boy! Not sure why this place gets negative reviews for Customer service because it was absolutely excellent!! Thank you DJ!!

I've been in Ear Craft probably 14 or 15 times over the years, and it's the same experience every time. The staff does absolutely nothing to acknowledge customers. It's like you don't even exist. Whether you're looking at guitars or other equipment out on the floor, or looking at products in the glass cases near the register...nothing. Even if you're near that register looking at products in the cases, and there's an employee there, it's like you don't exist. These guys don't get it.

I had my clarinet “repaired” here and it came out worse than when it went in. Had it re-corked and the new cork began peeling off the next day. The guy at the counter even admitted he used a cheap material when I brought it back. The staff were also very rude and condescending and treated me like I didn’t know anything about the clarinet, though I have been playing for years.

Cashier was very rude and was only interested in selling me the most expensive violin strings, insisting that I didn't know what I was shopping for, really tried to "mansplain" it to me

Highly recommended. Run by musicians and technicians. Amazing know-how and high quality products. Best collection of PRS guitars I've seen. I picked up a hidden gem, used Yamaha RBX170EW bass in perfect condition, set up perfectly. They carry G&L guitars and I've seen some sweet Hagstrom guitars show up. Ear Craft has a massive showroom, and in my opinion one of the best independently owned music stores in the northeast. Andy is awesome, and cares about his customers.

I didn't write anything but I should have. I bought my first amp there around 1983? And still have it and love it. I sold a guitar to them this week (a very oddball, rare, weird bass) and it was by far the easiest sale I have ever made to a music store. No lowballing or indecision, just straight up, simple and honest. I also have a soft spot because Brian would let me play all the guitars he knew I couldn't afford when I was a kid. Steve Anglin

Poor service and terrible prices. I have never had a good experience with this store. I went in to look at a guitar effects pedal that I wanted and noticed that it was $50 more than every other place I had ever seen it. When I asked why this was, a salesperson said that the company that made the pedal was upset that distributors were selling the pedals so cheap and were taking distributors off of their list of people to sell to, which makes literally no sense at all. I also brought in my amp once because it was breaking up at a very low volume. The salesperson said that it "could be anything" and told me I'd have to pay to have an amp tech look at it. I suspected that the tubes were old (which was the case) so I asked what preamp tubes the salesperson recommended. He said that they were "pretty much all the same" (wrong). Tube type and brand vary greatly. I was going to purchase some Groove Tube preamp tubes but they were $10 more than pretty much anywhere else. The salespeople are not very friendly and really don't like when people play the gear. Overall, prices are bad and service is just as poor. Save yourself the time and money and go to somewhere like Guitar Center or Ralph's House of Tone where they know what they're talking about and items are priced correctly.
