But, some clients that I've seen while I was there have bad attitudes and speak in a harsh tone. Clients, you must put others first and yourself last, okay? Stop writing negative reviews and start writing more positive ones, so you can have a happier and more successful life. Let 2022 be the year you all change. Let 2022 be the year you start being more positive and supportive towards yourself, family, friends, and coworkers/colleagues! The technician may be a businessman but he is also a very knowledgable and funny person. I had a pretty good experience with the service and working the Tan Max dream team. Tan Max is literally one of the best small businesses in the tri-state area that offers repair/building desktop/sales services. Oh another thing, if you plan to go in-person make sure you call the shop first. If you want on-site service, make sure you call, provide covid vaccination information with an id. The id is requested to verify the identity from the covid vaccination card. Tan Max is very serious about protecting the community, so Peggy regularly sanitizes tables, chairs, doors, and sprays Lysol after clients leave to maintain a clean environment. I had an ambivalent experience at Tan Max. It’s really hard for businesses especially small businesses to survive during the pandemic. Tan Max is very fortunate and the technician is very eager to persevere through the challenges he faces, which is why Tan Max is able to stay in business for 30+ years. The technician is very positive and nice to clients who decide to do the repair. If clients don’t listen to him, then the technician will show his bad side, but it all depends on the clients’ personality. The technician claims he is right and the client is wrong most of the time, so be careful when working with him (collect evidence). To those who wrote negative reviews/people who think his emotions ruin his character: Everyone has gone or is going through a rough time now especially with the pandemic. I will recommend people to get their devices serviced here. Clients will be willing to return or visit when the Tan Max Computer continues to work on themselves more, and make improvements on the little things. No matter who you are whether you own a small business to owning a mansion, at the end of the day we are sinful humans. Humans cannot do anything by themselves; humans need to rely on God to manage life, face obstacles, and so much more. I had a pretty good experience at TanMax Computer Services. Tan Max Computer is a family-owned business and everyone who works there is genuinely so friendly and caring. The technician has 30+ years of experience in the computer field and offers services like data recovery and repair services. The world is currently facing lots of obstacles with different variants popping up for covid-19, which has affected many businesses both big and small. At this point, many people have or are currently suffering whether financially, physically, mentally, and/or emotionally from the pandemic or any life events. It is really important to build each other up rather than tear people down because Tan Max Computer Services doesn't deserve people who have lots of hatred. The amount of negative reviews written for Tan Max Computer Services literally should not be there because the technician works "like a horse" - he repairs computers and devices himself unlike retail stores like Best Buy that send devices out for repair which takes several weeks for clients to get their devices back and is very costly. Nowadays, a lot of people work/do school remotely. If something malfunctions, then it affects everything. My laptop started to have issues, so I brought it to Tan Max Computer, had it diagnosed by the technician, and it literally took a day or so for him to get my laptop serviced and it was up and running! While I was there, some clients were waiting behind me and were recommended by Best Buy and another place (I can't recall right now) to get devices serviced and/or data recovered, which I found so interesting because when I first read the reviews at Tan Max I was concerned going in and getting service, but after, I thought it was really worth it. Meeting and working with the caring and wonderful team at Tan Max to get my laptop serviced was such a thrilling experience. The Tan Max team is so organized, wise, and strong. I highly recommend Tan Max.

I would recommend Tan Max Computer in Maplewood to anyone who needs data recovery from a dead SSHD (solid state hard drive) laptop. I grievously spilled a glass of water on my laptop just days before Christmas and could no longer turn it on. After searching my town Facebook group for recommendations, I contacted a place in a neighboring town, but the owner told me he could not fix SSHD laptops (like MacBook Air and iPhones). He recommended Tan Max Computer to me. I took my computer to Sam at Tan Max, and he was able to recover all of my data and has offered to refurbish the laptop for me. He was pleasant and knowledgeable and very eager to be up front and transparent about what he was doing and the associated costs. Hopefully, you won't have this problem, like I did, but if you do, Tan Max is your place!

Mr. Sam is Definitely One of a Kind.... He is Exactly what I look for in a Business Owner. He is Knowledgeable about his Craft and Backs his Services 100%.... I had my daughter’s MacBook Pro serviced due to the Apple Emblem staying on screen after boot up. Sam quickly Identified the Issue and with my permission. Replaced the motherboard and updated my operating system. Unfortunately... The Device Crashed after a Week and without hesitation. Mr. Sam again Quickly Identified the issue and acknowledged that His brand new Motherboard was Faulty... GREAT SERVICE!!! Thanks Again..

I’m very dissatisfied with the data recovery service I’ve received at Tan Max Computer. As a close friend of theirs, Pei told me she doesn’t get paid and is only working for Sam or Samuel the technician, which shows he is very selfish and puts all the money he earns towards himself. Pei is the bookkeeper and accounting manager at Tan Max, while her daughter is responsible for the social media, but Sam claims that they don’t do anything. I’m writing this review because I was charged an unreasonable amount for a data recovery that was done by a “special machine” in a “special room” that doesn’t exist in the shop, so when I asked where the special room is he said it’s not here then I asked where is it then he said it’s not my business. As a client I would like to know and be able to trust that my data recovery is in good hands. With that statement, it shows me that my device isn’t under good hands. Sam mentioned there’s a 97% customer guarantee, but me and a few customers haven’t been satisfied. When I picked up my device after it’s been there for a week, Sam showed me files on his computer and then when I got home I couldn’t open the files on my computer. When I called back the same day, Sam was very rude and said I have a customer I can’t talk to you. Then I called back again the next day and Sam asked me why I didn’t stay in his shop to ensure all my data was there before leaving. I stayed in his shop and saw the files on his device but the files on my device weren’t compatible. Overall, I really appreciate Pei for being so kind in helping her customers out but I don’t appreciate how bad Sam’s anger management issues are and how he blames customers when all the work was done by Sam and not touched by the client until pick up, how bashful, rude, dishonest, and falsely professional/religious to get his benefits which is just money and nothing else.

Sam the owner is a powder keg. He's all smiles and friendly to get the sale, but when an issue arose from his own actions, he was accusatory, rude and unpleasant, then tried to charge me 20% restocking fee on top of his asking price for a part that he was charging $30 more than online prices. Had an issue with a PC build, my motherboard had an extra power cable socket for an i9, wasn't listed in the diagram, and the other issue was I had a graphics card that requires extra power; so the power supply I purchased elsewhere had neither power cable, so I called up Sam, asked about the extra power cable (he had no idea the second 4pin cable is for i9 10900k CPU which I didn't need running an i7), and my extra 6pin cable for my graphics card, he said he had just the fix: an overpriced poorly reviewed power supply that he puts in all his PC builds at the store. He assured me all the cables I needed were included, I was desperately looking for a fix for my build at home, so I came to the store right away, he was all smiles and acted like a close friend, a valued customer. Then I get home. Open the box, lay out all the cables, and neither cable I was assured was there was included. I should have checked the box before I uninstalled my old PSU, so now I don't have the cables I was promised were there, I have to put my old parts back in and wire up the whole PC. I called him telling him about the cables, and he asked me to take my disassembled PC to his store for no reason other than he doesn't listen to his customers, he just insisted that somehow the cables would magically appear, like I had no idea how to identify what was in the box. 3 days later after I fixed it myself, I called Sam up to tell him about the missing cables and my need to return the uninstalled PSU and his tone changed immediately. He accused me of lying. His voice had a condescending mocking tone that was accusatory and dismissive. He told me I would be charged $35 restocking fee, but I would never have bought the item from him if he hadn't assured me that all the cables I needed were included, and they absolutely were not. We agreed on a 10% restocking fee because no matter how hard I tried to point out to him that he was the reason I bought the wrong part due to his ignorance of what I needed and what was in the box, his tone got more indignant, more aggressive and totally out of line for a business owner whose sole focus should be making satisfied happy customers. I am not happy having to assassinate Sam here in this review, but his own actions are at fault, he has no self awareness, acts as if he knows everything despite being 100% wrong about my needs and his own products.
