First off people READ YOUR LEASE!!! I read mine front to back and got my security deposit due to the fact that you have to give a 10 day WRITTEN notice. The staff is excellent and extremely helpful. I would also like to say that we are dealing with a pandemic everything is taking longer these days. We all need to be nicer to small businesses that are suffering. As far as the gates I spoke with the manger and she showed me the massive amount of cameras and other security measures so I was extremely satisfied with the security. The units are great and mine was cleaned and had easy access. The movers had no problems. The young woman Caitlin was nothing but sweet, knowledgeable, and professional. She made sure I had water and offered me a very good deal on the monthly rate. I was extremely satisfied!!!!!! I recommend everyone store their items with Fort Knox Self Storage in Montague N.J.!!!!!!

I went here to rent a unit for my college age stepson's items during the covid pandemic as I have him home with me as his university is currently closed. I did not have the room with me and my apartment for all of his things. I could not be happier with the staff- how helpful they were how willing they were to work with me on the pricing it was a great experience to start and then seeing the cleanliness of the place. The 24-hour monitored cameras was a big relief to me to as well even though where the facility is located it's pretty safe. The pricing was better than I actually had imagined in my head so that was a major stress relief on me. My experience was wonderful from the get-go from the staff to being beyond helpful and going above and beyond for me including offering a big packet of info including my lease so I have all my paperwork together in a folder. Thank you for Knox self storage for doing such a great job during these very very hard times!

Fort Knox in Montague is refusing to refund my security deposit. Middle of November 2020 I gave my notice that I will be returning the unit on November 30th. I was told 30 days to refund. 30 days is now 60 days and I’ve been lied to, and given excuses like “the U.S. mail is backed up with Christmas volume” and “the person that cuts the checks is in the hospital”. I used the same location years ago and was told the same excuse about being in the hospital. Management is a joke and should really be ashamed of themselves.

Scam!!! The gate has been broken for years. They advertise security, but its a lie. They broke into my unit. Even though I was paying them. Your stuff is safer outside

DO NOT RECOMMEND no security, gate has NEVER worked. Cleaned out my storage almost 6 months ago. Monday i will be filing in small claims court since i still have not recieved my security deposit after many attempts. EDIT. 3 days after this review i received an Undated letter from this facility (6 months after i closed my account) stating I did not give "notice"apon exiting and would not be refunded my security. Even though a walkthough was completed keys handed in as well as PAPERWORK In hand this is how they treat their customers.

Prices are competitive and location is convenient. The storage units are in good order and are pretty clean. Staff is friendly and willing to work with you. Security deposit did take a bit of time to get back after terminating the rental though. I would use their storage again in the future.

After waiting over 60 days for the security deposit to be refunded, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. This business had my correct contact information including address and phone number, and yet I did not receive my refund within the 30 day time frame, which was stated in their contract. After speaking to several of their employees, sending managers emails, I was disrespectfully not answered. They gave me the run around for weeks. I finally received a check dated 8/3/16, 64 days after vacating, and days after filing a complaint with the BBB. The business representative, West, then answered the BBB with the nonsense that they did in fact mail my refund, but had the incorrect address. This is a complete lie and I am highly offended that you would even make excuses for your lack of professionalism. If you do a little research on this business, you will find that I am not the first person they have done this too. Save yourself some aggravation, and money, and find another unit to store your belongings

I was extremely dissatisfied with this facility!! I made reservations and was given a confirmation # 2 weeks prior to the date I needed a cargo van. I called again 2 days before my reservation date to confirm and the company said that they had my reservation. The extremely emotional morning that I was moving my Mom into an assisted living facility, which was why I needed the van, my husband was on his way to pick it up and I get a call that they don't have a van available for me!!! I couldn't believe it!!! How unprofessional can you be! I even confirmed 2 days before to make sure all would go smoothly!!! When I called them back to let them know I found a UHaul dealer in Port Jervis, NY (Reiss Am Auto Sales) that could help me I was told they found someone. I never got a call from them or whoever the other dealer was that supposively had a van available until I called to let them know I found one! I would never use this facitlity again. I will be calling Uhaul (Reiss Am Auto Sales) in Port Jervis, NY if I need one in the future!
